Ipainter is a learning curve well atleast with the stretched canvas, but it’s definitely going to be a lot of fun for me and my boys! I already have a page of notes of ideas of some tips and tricks I’m working on and creating to help it execute the project more effectively. But if you want to use a stretch canvas, you will need to create your designs inside the wood frame or if your a patient crafter, and want a edge to edge design on your stretch canvas, I suggest removing the canvas from the frame and I am using my cutting mats to adhere my canvas or paper and any other blanks I’ve triedtoo, to prevent them from sliding and slipping out of the frame! And I clamped the cutting mat to my desk! I suggest a strong grip mat. I’m now currently designing and permanent platform that I’m adding a grid that matched the canvas grid in ideastudio that the ipainter will permanently sit on that will have clamps attached so I take all the framing guess work out and have proper clamps to secure any sort of canvas or blanks to the platform! It will be very efficient and effective for this amazing fun machine!!!
Love this energy! You’re absolutely right—iPainter does come with a learning curve, especially with stretched canvas, but it sounds like you and your boys are diving in with curiosity and creativity, which is half the battle won!
Your notes and setup ideas are gold—especially the tip about removing the canvas for edge-to-edge designs and using a strong grip mat. That clamp-to-desk trick? Genius! And the custom platform with a matching grid? That’s next-level problem-solving. You’re not just learning the machine—you’re engineering your own workflow, and that’s going to help so many others too.
Can’t wait to see how your projects turn out. Keep sharing those tips—they’re super valuable for the rest of us figuring it out too!
Can’t wait to see what you make!
Yes the LOKLiK iPaint definitely has a learning curve with it. It’s a really fun machine though. I’ve actually taken a liking to bringing my canvas outside to paint it. It’s really nice and peaceful for the soul.
Thank you so much! I am definitely excited and will share and update as I explore this fun ipaint machine!
I need to make a space for mine ![]()
@rinsky thank you!! It’s a fun machine! And excited to share anything I find that helps anyone else have fun too!
