Iron on transfer sheet issue - Help

I need a bit of help here. My mat was less sticky than desired and so I used the hack of putting transfer tape on it. Worked great but now I cannot get my transfer tape to unstick from the iron-on sheet side of the project. Do any of you have a trick for getting it to release or can I just leave it on there when I iron it on?

I have ironed on with transfertap on it before when I have done a strips of htv I cut as one image the transfer tape will shrink a bit but it did not effect the htv part of the project,

I would try the best to get the transfer tape off. The transfer tape will melt and may stick to your heat press. Is there anyway you can cut it off?
