Story: This card was inspired by the hope and promise I find in Jesus. Creating it felt like a quiet reminder of what His resurrection means—light breaking through darkness, grace meeting us right where we are, and hope arriving exactly when we need it. As I built the shaker element and added each layer, it became a small reflection of that message: joy that moves, light that shines, and a cross at the center of it all. “Hope Has Come” isn’t just a phrase to me—it’s the truth that guides my heart and my creativity.
Well I’ve used up my likes for the day and can like post in 38 minutes ! So @Samantha_Bryant I love this it’s beautiful!
Awww! Thanks so much, Shirley! I’m happy you love it! ![]()
I’m a little disappointed in how the foil transfer went. I maybe should’ve ran 2 passes, instead of unloading the machine and trying to go over it by hand when I saw how light some parts were.
I also hate that the masking tape I had to use to tape down the foil sheet lifted up some of the cardstock, causing some imperfections. There’s gotta be a better way… ![]()
Here again I will say like I did with @Cory_Barger only you notice the imperfections as the creator not us looking at it it’s authentic and gives it character!
I appreciate you saying that. Yeah, I give myself grace and learn from my mistakes — like realizing I need to run two passes when foiling. But when it’s something totally out of my control, like the tape lifting the cardstock, it can be a little exasperating. ![]()

Have you tried painters tape?
Painter’s tape is even stronger than masking tape. I used the tape that came with the foil kit. If I use blue or yellow painter’s tape, that will pull up even more as it’s wider and has an even stronger adhesive. I use masking tape for my watercolor paintings, and for taping down materials to my mat. I even have problems with transfer tape and the HTV carrier sheet lifting the color from cardstock. The watercolor paper is white and textured, so it’s less noticeable if it tears or lifts the paper. But when you’re using smooth, colored cardstock, it’s definitely noticeable, and lifts the paper every time. ![]()
I’ve seen loads of posts of people using washi tape for cardstock. Might be worth a try for you.
The best way for foil seems to be heat pressing with adhesive HTV.
There’s also toner-reactive, but that requires special foil and a laser printer.

Story: Spring brings to our small rural village not only sights but of new arrivals. When you visit the local Tractor Supply the sounds of chicks & ducklings meets you at the door. Who can resist them? Spring is without a doubt my favorite season.

Story : On a bright Easter morning, the garden shimmered with hidden colors. Ashley rushed outside with her little basket, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Behind flowers, under leaves, even beside the old watering can — everywhere she looked, a new egg waited like a tiny treasure.
With each find, her smile grew wider. When she finally sat beneath the apple tree, her basket full, she felt certain of one thing: the hunt was the real magic of Easter.

These bookmarks were inspired by the way Jesus transforms even the smallest, overlooked pieces of our lives. One bookmark uses scraps of vinyl I’ve saved from past projects, and as I pieced them together, it reminded me that even the leftover parts can become something beautiful in His hands. The second bookmark carries the cross cutout from the first, showing how nothing is wasted when grace is involved. Together, they’re a simple reflection of renewal, purpose, and the hope He brings into every detail.
Yeah, so I gave the washi tape a go when transferring my cardstock cutouts onto my eggs in the last event, and it actually ripped the whole top part of the cardstock off of the pieces, so that will probably be the last time I use washi tape for cardstock.
Next time, I think I’ll just stick the tape to my shirt to see if it will remove some of the tack so it doesn’t lift the cardstock when I remove it. I just hope it’ll still be sticky enough to keep the foil sheet down while it transfers.
As for the foiling, I spent money on the Loklik foil kit, so I’d like to use it. I think 2 passes will fix the issue of it not transferring fully. I will try again later, and will let you know how it goes. ![]()
