Please let me know what you do to flatten you sublimation stickers after you remove the sheet from heat source. I don’t mind the curling if I’m using the stickers to create something or for personal items but I want to be able to add them to my inventory.
Thank you in advance.
You could either reverse curl the sheet/stickers or put under a heavy book or stack of paper.
Hi @Stephanie_Castro! Great question — I’ve definitely dealt with that curling too. Here are a few tricks that work well for flattening sublimation stickers after heat:
-
Cool press method: Right after removing the sheet from the heat source, place it between two clean, flat surfaces (like heavy books or cutting mats) while it’s still warm. Let it cool under pressure for 10–15 minutes.
-
Weighted stack: If you’re batching stickers, stack them with parchment paper between each layer and place a heavy book or flat weight on top overnight.
-
Reverse curl: Gently roll the sticker in the opposite direction of the curl and hold it for a few seconds. This helps relax the fibers.
-
Humidity tip: If your space is very dry, lightly mist the back of the sticker with water (not the printed side!) before pressing it flat. Just a tiny bit helps.
I totally get wanting them flat for inventory — presentation matters! Let me know if you try any of these or if you find another trick that works better for your setup.
Just sticker paper in general, I print on the the back my watermark and some papers curl. I put them in my heat press and close it, cold that is not on to be clear.
I never did sticker’ i want to try!
I love them. I’ve used them on cups for the grandkids and have thrown those cups in the dishwasher plenty of times and stickers still look like they are hot of the press
These are some great tips!
Thank you!
I learn so much here, i had no idea you can do sublimation stickers!
I’d like to try sublimation one day
The sublimation sticker sheet curls but after I have my LOKLiK iCraft cut out all the stickers they are perfectly straight. All the tips from @rinsky would help with curling. If you are getting curling after removing from a cutting mat try flipping your mat upside down and then slightly bending the mat and gently peeling your sticker sheet from the mat this way. You shouldn’t get curling doing this.
If anyone is interested I have a video on sublimation stickers
