🖌️✨ Let’s Talk Sealers & Sparkle Savers!

Hey hey, Crafty Crew!

I wanted to pop in and share a few of my favorite sealing tricks—because when it comes to preserving those precious projects, a good sealer is like the fairy godmother of the craft world. :dizzy:

I recently shared this Pumpkin Canvas at Daily Check-in Challenge#2, and it’s got a special place in my heart. My daughter painted that little pumpkin three Halloweens ago, and it still makes me smile every time I see it. I gave it a glow-up by mounting it on canvas, painting the edges black for contrast, sealing it with Mod Podge, and adding a little gold foil shimmer—because memories deserve to shine. :sparkles::jack_o_lantern:

:bulb: Rinsky Tip: I used Mod Podge both as glue and as a topcoat. Once it dries, it gives the whole piece a smooth, brush-stroked finish that makes it look like the artwork was painted directly onto the canvas. It’s a total transformation!

:soccer: I also used this technique to preserve portraits of my daughter’s soccer team—Mod Podged right onto canvas. The texture gives it that painterly vibe, and up close, it’s got all the charm of a hand-brushed piece.

 And for something a little more rugged: my daughter made a mosaic cement piece last year for Father’s & Mother’s Day. I sealed it with an outdoor-grade sealer and placed it by our front door—it’s been holding up beautifully through all kinds of weather!

Here’s a peek at some of the sealers I’ve used across these projects.

From Mod Podge magic to outdoor-grade armor, sealers help us protect the love, time, and creativity we pour into every piece. They add texture, shine, and longevity—and sometimes even a little drama (hello, glossy finish!).

So let’s swap tips:

• What sealers do you swear by for canvas, wood, vinyl, or cement?
• Do you have a go-to for indoor vs. outdoor projects?
• Any sparkle-saving hacks we should all know about?

Drop your wisdom, your wins, and your wow-worthy results below. Pics welcome, sparkle encouraged! :yellow_heart:

Let’s keep those memories sealed with love (and a little Mod Podge magic) :yellow_heart:

Your Crafty Friend,

I really don’t know that Mod Podge can be a sealer. Maybe because that product is not available here in our city. All I know that Mod Podge are great in different Project. Thankyou for your tips and I’ll consider trying it on my future projects.

@InkiteeWorkshop, totally get that! Rust-Oleum 2X and Triple Thick are such solid picks—great coverage and finish. And yep, Mod Podge can be tricky… I’m with you on preferring it as a glue. As a sealer, it’s hit or miss depending on the project. Thanks for sharing your go-to combo!

@ZannX, You’re so welcome! :yellow_heart: Mod Podge is definitely a versatile little product—it’s often used as a glue, sealer, and even a finish, depending on the project. But if it’s not available in your area, no worries! There are lots of great alternatives out there too. I’m excited to see what you create next—your projects always shine with creativity!

I love Mod Podge and triple thick, but I mainly use resin to seal a lot of my projects.
