I’m always curious how fellow crafters and small business owners and content creators came up with their logos and business names! Specifically the ones that isn’t like their name as the business.
Tell me what inspired yours! Also share the name too! Today I finally got my an actual name for mine besides just my name! It is “Valhalla Moonchild Creations” for my small business . This represents and is in honor of my recent late mother. Lost her right before Christmas. Art and music was everything to her! And she loved the moon so so much! Painted it so many times ! Cannot wait to get my ipainter machine for so many ideas I have to incorporate a lot of her artwork! Let me hear your stories!
My content platforms will be a little more of myself and funny because that’s who I am and will add it here once I finishes redoing them all. But it’s the best and it’s exactly my personality when it comes to my creative side!
That’s a great name. I struggle with naming things so bad lol. Two of my kids are named after the X-men because those movies came out when I was pregnant lol. I am very big fan of X-men too.
I have 3 business but I was getting overwhelmed with posting on 3 different social medias all the time. It was to much. So, I made Belle the how to Guru my parent company and that’s my social account now. My other business names are How to I.T (where I teach I.T tutorials) How to DIY crafts (where I teach crafting tutorials) and Cheetah the how to gamer (where I do game tutorials). Overall, I tried to stick with a theme for all my names, and I knew I was going to teach how to tutorials, so I had how to in every name and then that’s how I became the how to Guru lol.
Love them all! And I’m a huge marvel fan!!! I mean I don’t miss nothing on Disney in the marvel channel!! @BellethehowtoGuru
@BellethehowtoGuru my mom most favorite band was Led Zeppelin! Named me Amber Page!!! That’s where Valhalla came from l, she had it tattooed on her and she was a true Moonchild! Loved that moon and when I out valhalla Moonchild together it’s like saying “I am coming Moonchild”
Your name logo is fantastic! When I was playing around with my last name, mine just popped up.
I’m pretty crafty, but not very creative when it comes to names. lol About 26 years ago when I had my very first blog, I used Leen Tats. My nickname and, at the time, I was an avid lace maker with tatting. When I moved on to my next blog about 10 years later I started out with…wait for it…the ever creative Colorado Leen…because I live in Colorado, I guess. LOL Things sort of took off with that blog and now I’m locked in with the YouTube channel and the rest of the social networks. I have extended it to Colorado Leen’s Craft Room but the “craft room” isn’t on the official social addresses.
I absolutely love this topic! My business is called 99 Years Creations — and funny enough, it was my husband’s idea. When we got married, he joked that he only had to put up with me and my craziness for 99 more years!
My logo is two hearts inspired by our wedding song, Just Another Day in Paradise by Phil Vassar — “Two hearts, one dream” as the lyrics say. The yellow heart is for CJ and the red one is for Tyler, my boys and their favorite colors.
Not the most glamorous origin story, but it’s full of love and meaning — and that’s what makes it special to me.
I’m not good at choosing names. I chose Studio 82 because 82 is my year of birth and Studio is an easy word to remember. I also had to think of a way to spell the name in Japanese (スタジオ エーティー・ツ). I also have a small online store for neurodiversity-themed t-shirts called SensiSense (センシセンス), and I’m slowly building a new profile called Cut n’ Design. Now, about the logos…they’re not as good as I’d like them to be, but for now, they work well.
What a sweet way to remember your mother. My business name came about in a similar way. It is the end of my name (Nikita) and the end of my late sisters name (Ashleigh). She was my biggest cheerleader and even gave me my first sewing machine. I felt it was the best way to honor her by naming my business Kitaleigh.
I liked the name and how you honored your mother
Do you have a game tutorial channel? Wow
I also like the X-Men and games. I’m a big fan of Nintendo and Mario.
What a beautiful story behind the name and what a beautiful way to honor your family.
hey Amber it’s lovely to hear your story behind your biz name, do you have a design/logo for it?
I love when a name and logo together can be both creative and memorable, something that sparks curiosity, clearly shows what I do, and connects with the right audience.
I actually have two creative names, each with their own story and their own logo that I designed myself.
Junk Journal Ideas I like my names to do more than one job. This one tells people what I do, junk journals are very popular and creative. The logo has a vintage vibe to reflect the feel of junk journaling, perfect for my audience who loves paper and old ephemera.
Inkitee This one’s a bit more playful. It’s a mash-up of “ink” (like printing) and “tee” (for T-shirts), which ties in with my work using DTF printing and other creative methods to make wearable art. The logo is totally different from my Junk Journal Ideas one, more modern, bold, and artistic, the colours, splashes of ink and a quirky octopus, aimed at a younger, trend conscious market.
Hello Amber_curtis. As like you I struggled for a logo too. Wanted to honor my son who lost his life to gun violence saving a life. He exemplified the true meaning of a helping others. My ellders whom always enstilled in us to Dare to Dream. Family history of Crafting and always wanted one too get like me. My name for my small business will be "Get like Me Crafts & Tee’s ". I like doing things differently and lookinf forward to all that the community has to offer.
My business name is Heartful Somethings. I do mostly custom and personalized items. I get random pictures of things and the question ‘Can you do something like this’? I try not to ever copy someone else’s work but instead, I use it as a jumpstart and completely redo it to fit that person’s personality. All these requests have allowed me to get into many different ways to create items, from vinyl to sublimation to laser engraving and cutting. I love making things that evoke emotion. Heartful because I put my heart in every item I make and Somethings because I’ll try anything to make it perfect.
I wanted to used our last name for the business. Spoke with my husband and kids. Was no, because didn’t want our family feel entitled to it . So we used the nickname people called me. For my logo, I used my face with some crafts products around me. Mostly I make sure no one have it or used the name before . Always check sunbiz (I am in Florida) to see if someone used your business name prior.
@InkiteeWorkshop my brother is actually helping me transform her tattoo into my logo now! He is like her and very amazing artist with painting and drawing and so he is reconstructing the tattoo she had and adding in some of me into it as my logo.
He loves doing that 3 dimensional spray paint art currently so I cut his stencils for him! And he helps me sometimes bringing visions to life when I need it!
super! how good is it that your family is so talented, I’m sorry that your mum is a crafty angel now but happy that you are keeping her legacy alive
Hi! My business name is Kai Designs LLC, named in honor of my son who’s had health challenges the majority of his life. The logo was one that just kind of fell in my lap. I’d been trying to decide on a logo for the longest time and one day on my home from work, I was sitting at the red light and three beautiful butterflies just casually flew past my front windshield. That was my answer! So the butterfly became the logo for our business
