“Hi everyone! I’ve been experimenting with my Loklik engraver and I really enjoy using it, but the cutting space feels so tiny. I’d love to work on bigger projects—does anyone have tips for managing larger cuts? I’ve seen options like LaserBurn and LaserGRBL, but they look super technical and a bit intimidating. Since I prefer Loklik, I’m curious how others handle this. Any suggestions?”
Hi @Katrina_Moore! If you’ve seen some of my YouTube videos using the iEngrave, you might remember me sharing a tip for maximizing your laser’s working area: create your own “safe zone.” I set mine between 11” and 11.5”, then make a square template at that size. From there, I fill the template with the designs I want to engrave or cut, keeping everything neatly within that boundary.
Here is an example of my project using 1 whole sheet of wood for cutting;
Here’s another example from my Thanksgiving cut file; wherein I designed it to cut the whole thing in one single piece of wood (second layer).
Omgggg Thank soooo much I was really struggling with this… Do you also use laserburn or LaserGRBL? Let me follow your youtube right now…lol
I just subscribed
Yes, I used Lightburn sometimes but I stick to Loklik app ‘coz it’s more user friendly and all the designs were there in our library versus using a third party and you always need to upload files or create your own from a scratch. That said, I am enjoying Loklik desktop version! And thank you so much for the subscribed, appreciate it much! ![]()
