This cozy winter jar began as a humble spaghetti sauce container and became a glowing keepsake through a layered, hands-on process. After removing the label from the jar, I used alcohol to wipe away the sticky residue. I painted the lid with gold acrylic paint, and once dry, I covered it with Mod Podge Gloss and sprinkled holographic glitter all over it. Once that was dry, I sealed in the glitter with another coat of Mod Podge.
Using my Loklik machine, I cut some Magic Cover transparent vinyl and applied it to the jar with transfer tape. After spraying with frosted glass spray paint and letting it dry, I peeled off the temporary vinyl to reveal crisp, glowing words—Love, Joy, and Peace—framed by snowflakes. A bit of sticky residue lingered, but I used the transfer tape to gently lift it away.
Inside, I used my hot glue gun to glue the switch of some soft LED string lights to the lid and let the string of lights hang.
It’s a simple, heartfelt transformation—perfect for gifting, decorating, or sparking a little seasonal joy.
