Making IdeaStudio Layers Make Sense

Y’all… I just dropped a BRAND NEW video!

Huge shout‑out to @Nancy_Sierchio for bringing this design to my attention because WOW — this SVG was doing the absolute most. Layers everywhere, duplicates hiding in corners, random pieces that made zero sense… it was a whole adventure.

So, in this video, I break the entire thing down step‑by‑step and show you exactly how to turn a chaotic, over‑layered file into something clean, organized, and vinyl‑ready.

I’m walking you through:

  • cleaning up messy layers
  • what to delete (and WHY)
  • grouping everything so it finally makes sense
  • prepping it perfectly for layering permanent adhesive vinyl
  • layering adhesive vinyl

If you’ve ever opened a design and thought, “Nope, I’m not dealing with THAT,” this tutorial is going to save your sanity.

Watch it here

And keep the suggestions coming — if you’ve got a wild or confusing design you want me to tackle next, drop it below. I’m on a roll.

You can check out the SVG I used in this video, here:

:joy: Nah, you’re not much trouble. This design, however, was an absolute mess, but it was great for teaching how the IdeaStudio layers work, and also perfect for teaching how to layer permanent adhesive vinyl. I needed to make a video for my channel, anyway, and had no idea what I wanted to do. I appreciate you bringing this design to my attention, and for having patience with me while I worked on the video. I tried to explain it in a short video, but found that was impossible, in this case. :joy: I hope it helps you, and others, understand how the layers work a little more. I’ve seen a lot of questions about Loklik’s layers, and many users don’t understand them in the beginning. If you come across any other designs you may need help with, don’t hesitate to ask. I’m always happy to help.
