Mindset Shifts That Saved My Sanity

Hey Loklik family! :kissing_heart:

Let’s talk about the real reason so many of us were stressed when we first started crafting—because I definitely was, lol. :rofl:
It wasn’t the machine,
the materials,
or even the settings.
for me It was my mindset.:brain

So, here’s today’s question: what’s one mindset shift that completely changed your crafting workflow (and maybe saved your sanity)? :thinking:

For me, it was this plot twist: “Slow down, sis.” Rushing almost always leads to disaster—like cutting the wrong material on the wrong setting or weeding so fast that pieces stick together where they shouldn’t. Then you’re stuck redoing, printing, and weeding all over again. Just happened to me while working on my sister’s glass project! I’ve realized I need to slow down and take my time because rushing and lacking patience just means doing the work twice. I’m working on changing my mindset so I’m not doubling my workload. :roll_eyes: :100: :two_hearts:

You’re so right about that. Getting angry just makes things worse. :laughing: I learned to always do small tests, first. That way, I’m not mad about wasting materials. However, I still have times when something doesn’t go as planned, so I’ll walk away from it, and try again later, after I’ve gathered my thoughts and have done some research on what may be causing the problem. I get especially frustrated when learning a new program, such as Affinity, because they can sometimes be so overwhelming with all of the tools. So, I try to play around for 15-20 minutes at a time, then take a break, search for ways to use specific tools, watch videos, etc., then come back refreshed and ready to try out what I learned. Eventually, I’ll know how to use, or execute, whatever it is I’m trying.

Great post, too, btw! :smiley::+1::heart:
