Project | 20th Anniversary Card – Cardstock & Handcrafted Layers

For our 20th anniversary, I wanted to make something bold, heartfelt, and creative. I chose the colors red and blue because those are the colors of his favorite football team. I started with the blue cardstock and cut out the front design—which I found in the IS library—then glued a piece of red cardstock to the inside so the cutout would shine through. I placed the cutout from the front onto the red background and glued it in place, giving the design extra depth.

To celebrate the milestone, I cut “20 years!” from red cardstock and glued it to the inside of the card. I used a simple school glue stick for all the gluing, keeping the process straightforward but effective. The finished card combines vibrant color, layered detail, and a personal touch—perfect for marking such a meaningful occasion.

Materials & Process:

  • Blue cardstock (front cutout base)
  • Red cardstock (inside layer and “20 years!” text)
  • Cutting machine (to cut the designs)
  • School glue stick (for assembly)

Thanks so much, @BellethehowtoGuru ! We’re coming up on year 21 in March. It’s definitely been a wild ride. We’ve been through a lot, together, for sure, but we’re still going strong.

Thank you, @Judi_B ! I’m so happy you like it! I thought the fire heart was beautiful, too. I love how the cut turned out on the card so much, I just had to glue the cutout to the inside, as well. It’s for sure one of my favorite cards.
