I just completed my very first sublimated puzzle, and this one carries so much heart. I ordered the blank puzzle from Amazon and chose a photo of my cousin with his grandmother, who has transitioned. This gift is for his birthday, but really, it’s a piece of memory he can hold.
I printed the picture on my brother’s sublimation printer using HTVRont sublimation paper, trimmed it, taped it to the puzzle blank, and pressed it at 330° for 3 minutes. The image didn’t come out as crisp as I imagined—chalk it up to my beginner hiccup—but the love behind it is clear.
It’s imperfect, but it’s full of love. I know he’ll feel his grandma’s presence the moment he sees and I know he’ll be happy to see his grandma’s face smiling back at him.
