Love LOKLiK Mini Heat Press Pouch
Armed with a brand new Epson EcoTank L3270, I finally entered the realm of dye sublimation.
I wanted to do something with many different colours and found this lovely hearts image in LOKLiK App’s Library. I had already recreated the LOKLiK logo in a project I’ll be sharing very soon, that demonstrates some of the combine functions as an interactive tutorial.
As I needed to keep the hearts’ colour scheme intact, I created a mask/matte by extracting the logo’s outline from a larger white rectangle, rather than using ‘subtract’ which would have changed the hearts design to a single colour.
The pouch material isn’t suitable for sublimation so I had to make a background layer with sublimation vinyl, which I cut with my LOKLiK Crafter.
I pre-pressed the pouch to remove any moisture and ran a lint roller over it, then the vinyl was pressed with very firm pressure at ~145 Celsius for 15 seconds. After cold peeling the cover sheet, I positioned the sublimation paper and taped it down to prevent movement. After pressing again at ~180 Celsius for 60 seconds, then warm peeling the sub paper, my design was complete.
