Project | SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Spring babies. I live in a small rural farming community where Spring always bears babies. This piece was created from a small wooden cutting board. I painted it with black chalk paint, let it dry, paint a layer of school glue, let it dry, painted over that with a white chalk paint then dried it with a hair dryer to get the crackle look. I added butterfly stickers around the rooster, hen & chick’s to add some color. The back has a felt backing. I used eye hooks & jute to all for hanging if desired. I used gold thumbtacks to the corners to finish it up.

Thank you Sam, your opinion means a lot to me. It’s been a journey getting all the steps down on this site & the software but now I feel more confident & can do it on my own. You are the reason for this. Your patience is amazing, your willingness to change up how you are describing the steps when they just didn’t make sense were extremely kind and above & beyond, I still will need help here & there but knowing you are there helps. You truly are sunshine.

Wow, what a charming sign. Love the colors you used and the paint backdrop to make it look rustic.

Awww! Thank you for your kind words, Nancy. I’m just happy you didn’t give up and hung in there. You’re on a roll now, and I see many wins in your future. I completely understand not grasping things at first, too, and know how important it is to be gracious and guide with compassion and understanding. I sometimes struggle with learning new programs too. Just look at me with Inkscape! :joy: 2 weeks in, and I finally have my first full color SVG. I wanted to give up so many times, but I didn’t let myself. I’m glad I didn’t, because I too now have the confidence to make the next one. It happens to everyone. We’re all beginners at first lol. The only way to not be a beginner is to keep at it.

You’re doing a wonderful job all around. I’ve seen so much improvement in both your projects and in entering those projects. You’re going to be a complete pro in no time!:heart::heart::hugs::heart::heart::heart: And yes, I’m always here if you need me. Never hesitate to reach out.
