This handmade wine tote was crafted with care and layered construction. The outer shell features a paisley cotton fabric in shades of pink and white, paired with magenta trim for a bold finish. To give the tote structure and durability, I added cotton batting between the outside fabric and inner lining.
The handle was built from two layers of cotton fabric, reinforced with fusible interfacing for strength and stability. After sewing the tote, years later, I decided to customize it with a playful vinyl phrase ā āWine a little, itās catharticā ā cut using my Loklik Crafter and pressed with white HTV.
Though I donāt use it for wine (Iāve been sober for six years, this month), this tote remains one of my favorite makes ā a blend of sewing, structure, and vinyl personalization that shows how different techniques can come together in one project.
Thank you so much, @redhada! Iām happy you like it! Paisley is one of my favorite prints and this one is definitely one of the most beautiful ones Iāve seen. I wish I had more of it! I have more Paisley, but, apparently, this particular one was very limited as this wine tote is the only thing I made with it, and I canāt find anymore in my stash. I mustāve found it on the clearance rack at JoAnn fabrics, and they closed a few years ago, here, so I canāt just go pick up more. Maybe, I can find it online with an image search.
But, yeah, sewing is cathartic, as well! Itās so relaxing & rewarding, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
Oh I donĀ“t know that shop you talk about, but I guess repeatiing those fabrics is very difficult, so you just can keep the vibe and search for a new one , itās also happened to me
JoAnn was a sewing store in the US, and they always had a clearance rack filled with fabric leftover after being cut from the roll, but they closed all the stores about 3 years ago. They recently merged with Michaelās, a hobby store here, so, Iām hoping I may still be able to find it there.
Thanks, Belle! Yeah, it definitely toted plenty of wine to Christmas parties, pre-vinyl addition. The last Christmas party it went to was 2019. Now, it just sits in my studio ā looking pretty.
