A couple of days ago, we did puff printing for my son. However, today I noticed that it’s starting to peel off. When it started to peel, my 2-year-old son began tearing it all off My question is, why do you think it peeled off? And in such a short time?
Proper Temp, time and pressure
This is puff and have washed it several times. I used the mini press and easy press since the auto press 1 didn’t give enough pressure. If ever I notice it lifting, I just repress it with my mini press
We also did it with the Mini 3, but I don’t understand where we went wrong. Maybe, as you said, we couldn’t apply enough pressure. Thank you.
Normally if it peels quickly after washing or wearing it’s because there was to much heat or not enough pressure. Unfortunately, not all puff HTV is designed the same and a lot of the cheaper brands just don’t last no matter what you do.
To be honest, the print has never been washed after being applied. This is because it was already washed before the print was made, and my son hasn’t gotten it dirty yet. But yes, the quality of the vinyl might have had an effect as well. However, before concluding that, I want to try something else.
Actually, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this too. I read in an article that PUF products only work well on 100% or near-100% polyester fabrics and do not perform as well on cotton or other materials. The fabric we used contained a high percentage of cotton. So, if this information is correct, that could also be a factor.
I haven’t tested it yet, but once I do, I will share the results with you. Right now, I have two possible factors to consider:
- The print itself
- The fabric type
I don’t think temperature was an issue because we used the Mini 3 to set the correct heat.
I use TeckwrapCraft puff and I press it with the automatic heat press it turns out very nice and even after a few washes it is the same. So I’m guessing the right temp and pressure are the reason!
I made a story on Ig after 3 or 4 washes and showed my followers how it is the same.
I want to achieve this type of puff. Usually they achieve this with the clamp type heat press and the vinyl brand also has a factor in it
This Sarah has been posting all over Fb groups and showing off with this metallic puff Htv
I didn’t try this kind I’m gonna search for it but I already have too many rolls that nobody order stuff to work with😕
lol you make me laugh, I love how you noticed Sarah before the puff
Seriously she’s promoting the brand she’s using I guess and posting 24 7 on every craft cricut sublimation group after I comments here I opened fb and saw a new post she made on some groups
Maybe she wants to get recognised by the brand
