Day 2…Happy Thursday…Question of the day to my Loklik craft or icraft family how often have you guys had to change your blades or do you sharpen the ones you have how do you maintain them?
I have had mine in since February 2025, i dont use every day (but every other day) but I have cut 60 cupcake boxes A4 size x 2 (120 pieces) plus paper, plus cardstock, plus fabric, plus foam, plus vinyl and I have no need to change it yet. I’m testing it out to see how far it will go ![]()
I replaced the first knives quite quickly, about 1 month. But now I stick the knives in a ball of tin foil when they don’t cut properly, so I’ve used the last knives for about 8 months.
To keep them sharp, gently stick them in aluminum foil repeatedly. This also keeps them clean of any residue, such as adhesive. This way, you can keep using them until they wear down.
They gradually become shorter, and that’s when it’s time to replace them. You can also reserve the new ones for more delicate projects and use the old ones for everyday use.
