Set-up Question

Subject: DTF Printer Delivery – Missing Items and Liquid Concern

My DTF printer was delivered today—thank you! I’m eager to begin setup, but I’ve noticed a couple of issues I’d like help with:

  • There’s a red liquid present in some of the paint bottles. I’m not sure if this is expected or if it indicates a problem.
  • The package did not include any tape or metal stoppers, which I understand are typically part of the standard kit.

Could you please confirm whether this setup is complete or if these items were accidentally omitted? I’d appreciate your guidance before I proceed further.

Hey, congratulations on your new machine. Very exciting time.

That reddish liquid you’re seeing is totally normal for many DTF and UV printers. It’s a factory-installed moisturizing or preservation fluid designed to keep the ink lines and printhead from drying out during shipping. It’s not actual ink, and it won’t affect your colors long-term.

:bulb: Here’s what most users do:

• Don’t pour your new ink in just yet. First, run a full flush or initial ink charge using your printer’s software or control panel. This will push out the red fluid and prime the lines with your actual ink.

• No need to manually clean the bottles or lines unless your manufacturer specifically recommends it. That red fluid is designed to integrate or evaporate safely.

• If your machine has a “fill ink” or “initialize” option, that’s your next step before printing anything.

Hope it helps you clear your mind.

Could you let me know what you mean by tape and metal stoppers please so I can further assist you in this matter.

Hope this helps :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks so much. Quick question—are there different versions of this printer? I watched the tutorial here, and in the unboxing, the young lady mentioned there was tape when opening the printer head and a metal stopper where the paper would go. However, when I opened my box, there was no tape or metal stopper. I uploaded the picture already the first picture I uploaded

Yes there is, Theres a LOKLiK DTF iPrinter and the HTVRont D1 DTF Printer. I believe they are roughly the same. Those parts are probably used in the shipping process and need to be removed before printing.

Maybe this machine doesn’t have the metal stoppers or tape, so I’m wondering if there’s an updated video for the newer model. That might be the one I have.

Does your machine say LOKLiK or HTVRont on the front of it?
