Software - ugg

Maybe I didn’t know exactly what I was doing when I bought this but…I am not thrilled. I expected so much more. Having to go somewhere else to pay a fee just to design things is a bummer. The fact that my phone app has better features than the one on my pc is ridiculous. It is upgraded. This community tab is not the easiest to deal with either. Since I have invested in it, I am looking forward to some upgrades, soon. Will take all the advice and help anyone wants to offer. Always open to know more.

Hey @Michelle_Tuggle thanks for being so honest, that’s super helpful for all of us. I’m sorry the experience hasn’t matched your expectations yet. A few quick things that might help right away:

  • You shouldn’t need to pay somewhere else just to make basic designs. You can use Canva and Photopea to name 2 free software apps available that work in well with LLiS.
  • LLiS is also constantly evolving, and is open for suggestions to add features along the way.

What are you working on? you’ve already invested, so let’s get you a win you’re happy with :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What machine have you invested in?
I love my crafter and draw my things on my tablet in a free app. I also use canva as a big help when i want sone ekstra fun with words. I don’t pay for any of it.

You can add Krita and Inskscape to the free apps list

It is curious because I don’t expect a cutting machine software to be a drawing, design and layout tool, but a software that performs the tasks the machine makes. Same way I don’t expect my printer driver to do so. For that, I’m fine trusting my favourite dedicated programs.

And it is also curious because other machines make you pay a sub for that tasks they make. That is what for me is preposterous, and that’s one of the things why Loklik got my attention in the first place.

With all new things, comes the learning curve. I’m sorry you are feeling frustrated and disappointed.

If you can let us know some of the projects you are trying to make, I’m sure we will be more than happy to help in any way we can.

Also have you checked out the tutorial section in the community? It’s filled with step by step tutorials that will teach you some of the skills you need to get started in LOKLiK Idea Studio.

Like I have said, I am soooo new at this. Maybe my expatiations were unrealistic, I don’t know. I am managing to get around in here and I have done some shirts. Not by any means good but I am trying them out on my wedding helpers. They are minions. haahaa

Just working on misc stuff. Having some issues with cutting faux leather. I eventually after a lot of trial and error get what I need but I have burned through a lot of it and vinyl too. Good thing I bought a bunch on sale knowing there would be a learning curve.

But you didn’t say that :joy: Neither which is the machine you have, I’m guessing it is the iCraft

Yes, that’s the point, but don’t worry, you have support here and we love to make that journey :hugs:

Cutting faux leather now is ok, but have in mind it is not the easiest one nor a regular place to start.

I have an introduction to cutting machine basics video that may help you. It explains what tools are needed for what project and some of the terms that you may not have heard before that are commonly used in the crafting community.

Can I ask what machine you have, and what you’re thinking for your next project. I could give you some pointers and help get you started.
