Last week, @Leah_Troglia casually dropped a photo of something delicious she cooked, and it got us wondering: what do our fellow crafters enjoy doing outside of crafting?
Everyone’s got their “main” hobby, but there’s often a fun side quest too:
Do you play an instrument? Snap photos just for fun? Game? Garden? Bake sourdough? Collect tiny shiny things?
So here’s the question: What’s a non-crafting hobby you enjoy — and has it ever inspired your craft projects?
Whether it’s a small spark or a full crossover moment, we’d love to see the whole you.
And of course, we’ll randomly pick 3 replies to receive 100 Cheers this week.
In my free time I play pokemon go and watch a lot of anime with my husband we have a weekly watch list… we made some stickers inspired by sailor moon and one piece
Im usually playing with the kids or cleaning up after them. Lol. But between school, my small business and kids i have very little free time. So in that lottle free time i lo e watching a good movie with the family.
I use to play saxo, my Dad is a musician a real Master in my country and almost my whole family play an instrument! I enjoyed a lot be with my Dad doing that.
If I’m not crafting or doom scrolling on the internet my nose is in a book. I’ve always been a voracious reader. Back in middle/high school we would go to the library as a family. I would check out an armload of books and be ready to get new ones the following week. I don’t often check out a massive amount of books anymore, but I do have two books on the library shelves with bookmarks for my next trip to use their ultra fast internet access. LOL As soon as I can make my way into the back room of the old homeschool classroom I’ll be bringing in the first two Mitch Rapp books to start re-reading. Until then I have a few paperbacks in the bedroom that I’m working through.
Any time I have free time I love to play on my Nintendo switch. I wish I had more time for it, it’s always been my favorite gaming console come to think of it I’ve never done any crafting inspired by the games or the console itself but now it gives me the idea that I should.
I love traveling. I love to explore different location and cultures. I also enjoy reading, when time permits. I can pick up a book and be wherever the author has placed us.
I also love spending time with my family. It’s fun to travel with my grandchildren and introduce them to new things and places.
Ouh, thank you so much Olivia for the cheer points and congrats to @Mary_Williams and @Diane4838 ! That was a funny talk haha everyone obsess with something and many of the obssesions are common in this community.
I like to speed inline speed skating, I competed when I was younger and I still love the sensation of the air on the face while singing to myself. I can’t do it very often, though.
Before I became crafter, I used to play online games and stream those games in facebook. Right now, if I’m not crafting, I sometimes play Grow a Garden.
