Thank you BellethehowtoGuru, bought this from Philippine’s local online store.
I can relate with the cute bookmarks, those are easy and fun to make! Aside from that, I also designed, print and cut simple shapes of stickers like square, rectangle and circle with quotes in it, and patterns for journaling. Also for different objects such as tumbler, you’ll print it on a vinyl sticker then put some cold laminating film for scratch protection and full waterproof. I still have my HTVRONT printable vinyl stickers here and I’m thinking what stickers to print
maybe for my storage boxes, I’ll print some labels or cutie illustrations ![]()

One of the first things I made when I got back into crafting was a personalised cushion cover. Made from a pre-printed panel, once you’ve stitched it together you can add personalisation with embroidery or HTV.

I would tell a Newbie to first start with practicing with Dollar Tree vinyl; this way you do not waste your good Vinyl!
Making bows. Free templates available use variety of materials from card stock to faux leather. Very easy to make!
For a new crafter, I would recommend a simple design cut on a cutter for a t-shirt . It will give practice on the design, cutting machine, weeding and placement. A lot is learned in one simple designed shirt.
Yes, just like you I love watching crafters doing some crafts and that’s how I began to imagine myself being a Crafter. At first, it’s not easy, but eventually, I started to love what I am doing and it’s now or never! I remember somebody asked me if there’s a moment or time I got bored. and it hits me! Because, if you love what you are doing, you will never get bored!
Totally with you all on this one! Keychains and bookmarks are top-tier beginner-friendly projects in my book. A simple vinyl cut with your name or a fun design? Instant win! And don’t sleep on cardstock bookmarks—they’re quick, customizable, and perfect for gifting or keeping. Double win, double joy! ![]()
The Perfect Starter Project for New Crafters: Festive Holiday Ornaments!
If you’re brand new to crafting and not sure where to start, the holiday season is the perfect time to jump in. The air is full of inspiration — twinkle lights, cozy colors, and that feeling of joy that makes you want to create something special with your own two hands.
So what’s an easy, fun project that even a first-time crafter can dive into with confidence?
Personalized Holiday Ornaments!
Whether you use HTVRONT vinyl, sublimation, or even engraving with the LOKLiK iEngrave, ornaments are a fantastic way to learn new techniques without the pressure of perfection. They’re small, manageable, and make wonderful keepsakes or gifts.
Here’s why ornaments make the perfect beginner project:
- They’re quick wins. You can finish one in under 30 minutes and feel that instant satisfaction of creating something beautiful.
- You can experiment freely. Try vinyl layering, glitter accents, or even wood engraving — there’s no wrong way to make an ornament your own.
- Affordable materials. A few blank ornaments, a bit of vinyl or sublimation paper, and you’re set! It’s an inexpensive way to practice using your press or laser.
- Perfect for gifting or decorating. You’ll end up with something you can hang proudly on your tree or give to family and friends — everyone loves a handmade touch during the holidays.
For example, I love using my HTVRONT Auto Heat Press for sublimated ornaments and my LOKLiK iEngrave for delicate wooden ones. Sometimes I even mix the two — engraving a wooden base and adding a touch of metallic vinyl for that festive shimmer.
Pro Tip for Beginners: Don’t aim for perfect — aim for joyful. Each project teaches you something new, and that’s where the magic of crafting really begins.
The holidays are all about connection, and there’s something so special about creating handmade pieces that carry a bit of your heart in them. Whether it’s your first ornament or your hundredth, the joy of crafting never gets old.
So grab your favorite blank, warm up that heat press (or laser!), and let’s make something merry together!
