Congrats!!!
Thank you ![]()
I get it all of the time with my handmade clothing and bags. But my mom is my biggest fan… she’s so proud when someone tells her “I love your bag!” And she can respond with “my daughter made it for me!” But my daughters also passionately declare when they’re wearing something I made them ![]()
The reaction I usually get is… HOW?!?!
I always find it ironic that the projects that take the longest, are the most complex, and I’m the most proud of, are the ones that get the least favourable reactions.
In general though, the responses are always very positive, which is nice to hear but, more importantly, the looks on their faces says that they’re greatly appreciated. That said, the vast majority of items are made at the request of family and friends. My mother-in-law is always very vocal in her responses and loves to hear exactly how they’re made.
My absolute favourite response though, was made by a bridesmaid at my niece’s wedding, after seeing the decorated mirror in the entrance:
“You should do that as a job!”
High praise indeed.
Love the bag
Omg I totally get that too, something that took me like an hour to make gets all the attention instead of the make that took 5 hours to make lol.
Love your beautiful mirror wedding sign, so elegant
Thank you so much ![]()

It’s true! ![]()
I like that mirrow! Mirrows are treng again!
People who don’t really know me are surprised when they find out I made it myself. But my family and close friends? Their reactions usually go like this, “You could sell this!”, “Let’s start a business like this!”, or the classic line “Can you make me one?”

Thank you!
Thank you!
So a funny thing happened to me the other day and I just have to share it here. Before we left on our family trip, I asked our Neighbours over the road if they would be able to put our bins out and just keep an eye on the place while we were gone. We have looked after their place and vice versa. Anyway we got back super late this time and pretty much didn’t leave the house the following day because we were all sleepy. Long story short I only got a chance the other day to go over and say thank you to them for looking after our house. The man of the house was out but his wife said I’ll thank him for you. I handed her a card and we got to talking while she opened the thank you card I made. She looked at the card and a huge smile spread across her face. She said oh wow, did you make this. I said, yes I did. I always see you in your garden so I made a flower thank you card for them. She said do you have a minute, I was like um yeah I guess so. Do you need a hand with something (they are an elderly couple). She said come in, come in. I followed her through her gorgeous house and noticed all her decorations scattered around. She took me to a room and then she opened the door. She said go on in. I walked in and it was the nicest craft room I have ever seen. Everything had a place and she even had some of her created works on the shelves. I was like wow, she said I make cards too. It was such a nice surprise to find a fellow crafter.
That’s such a great story. So near yet so far!
I know right, I just had to share it. Never know who your next crafty friend might be
Awww thank you, that’s made my day honestly. Recently I don’t know what going on with me I’ve been on a downer and it’s getting the best of me, house renovations not gone to plan and seems like I’m stuck in this rut, on top of that all my crafting stuff all packed away makes me so unhappy as I don’t have the space to craft.
To craft I need room and that is what I don’t have.
I really don’t know what to do as it helped me mentally.
Interms of your makes, they are beautiful too and although I can’t craft myself I love seeing your makes and it makes me happy.
That’s a lovely story. Eould love to see taht craft room too ![]()
Yes, crafting helps your mental state so much, I wonder do you have a friend that crafts. Maybe you could have a crafting session at her house, or recently I found there is a craft making group near me. They meet every week and bring their crafts they are working on at my local community center. This could be great for you, to get out of the refurbishing house with all the frustration and take your crafts to craft with a group or friend.
I really hope things improve for you soon, big hugs and sending you my love
