It’s Tuesday again—time for a little community chat!
Today’s topic is a fun one:
What’s your odd crafting habit?
Maybe you always start by cleaning your entire workspace (even if it won’t stay clean for long lol).
Maybe you need background noise—like a true crime podcast or your favorite K-drama.
Or maybe you hoard scraps just in case, even though you haven’t used any in months.
We all have our own little quirks—what’s yours?
A teammate once shared that she talks to the machine like it’s a pet. “Okay, good job. Now don’t mess this part up.”
We’ll randomly pick 3 fun replies from the comments next Tuesday—each will receive 100 points as a little treat. Until then, stay creative
I usually do other chores while crafting like putting a load of laundry or tyding up and folding clothes hahaha… I do this while printing or while the machine is cutting… when I’m not at home… maybe an event or even just buying groceries… I edit stuff on my phone then continue at home later. I rarely have a full ME/Crafting time - being a full time mom I need to master the art of multi tasking…
sometimes I also put on a K-drama or US series when I’m in the mood.
All of that but the K-drama thing. Instead of that, I rather music, true crime, a good documentary or news or podcasts about news and political news. Through any output that lets me move around (loud or bluetooth speakers that I can move with me or wireless headphones).
Soft light if I don´t need many and lots of open software and folders on my two monitors, sometimes 3 or even 4 haha.
I have my Crafter in another room, so whe I click on the Task List to make, I move to its room talking to it: camon, do it right, don’t mess my materials
I start cleaning my entire craft space and after I can’t find what I need I don’t know if its a odd habit or my adhd getting in action and when I’m using my phone to design something I start to walk around
Same as @jana_dori if i clean i lose my stuff lol recently ive been opening tiktok live only when i have orders and i speak with the people about loklik anf htv i really enjoy letting people see how the machines work fluently and they see ot live and lota of people have bout the auto heat press after my lives .
Also a few people reached out to me to say because they saw me live working and crafting they started their own business or some have said they were quitting their business but after they saw me my work my crafts and videos they went back and started working again
It really made me proud andorw passionate about crafting
I am a person who talk a lots (if I need to??!!) whether this is a non-living thing or a living things. When I’m in my crafting/studio room, I always tell all my participants (machines & materials) to behave & participate in a good way specially when I’m recording my tutorial for a content. After a long day with them, I always thank them for a great service they provided to me and looking forward to another great adventure with them My husband knew me for a long time talking to objects like cars, plants, machines, and anything I want to talk with (he thought I’m crazy?) Being married with him for long, he adapted it and start talking to his cars and motorbikes, too!
So, one day he walked to our living room and he thought that I’m talking to some “things” again and only to find out I wasn’t there and the big TV was playing my own video tutorial. He was looking at me around the house and he found me at my craft room looking for some “thing” and he said, “I thought you were in the living room for the whole time and there you are!” Awww! I didn’t know he missed me that much!
Reading to all your odd habits, @rinsky this one is really freak in funny Made me laugh! Good thing that your hubby didn’t find any doppelgänger of yours instead a TV playing your own video tutorial!
I know it’s common but it’s just so funny how laser-focused I am when I am crafting that I totally ignore my boyfriend when he’s saying something and he says I am mean
Oh god I can never concentrate on any question my husband asks me when I’m crafting sometimes I answer without knowing what’s the question and he will be like haaa what was that what did she answer about what lol he learned then the hard way no questions during crafting
Oh, I’ve got a whole printer zoo over here—three already and a DTF on the way like it’s the new baby in the family.
I talk to them like you do lol! they each have personalities…
“Okay Epson, don’t jam today, come on pick it up! we’ve talked about this.”
“Canon, be a dear and print straight this time, yeah?”
And my laser printer? She’s the diva—only works when she’s in the mood.
Can’t wait to see what chaos the DTF adds to the mix. I’m already clearing shelf space like it’s moving into a luxury suite!
If my DTF printer starts demanding snacks or playing favorites, I will definitely update you!
This was very funny. It’s happened to me too. I was watching youtube on the tv and decided I should quickly go have a shower before school pick up. I normally turn the tv off but for some reason I didn’t this time. A video of mine came on after the video I was watching ended. My partner came home early from work and walked in. He walked around the whole house thinking I was talking to him until he realized and walked into the lounge room that it was the TV. I had a chuckle about it.
Oh, what DTF printer are you getting? I have been looking for one but still researching and looking into them. I research a product for sometimes a year before I make the purchase lol
I always clean my craft room before and after crafting. Because my craft room is part of my dinning room it’s always visible so I need to keep in generally clean.
If I’m not recording I put on some of my favorite podcasts or other crafting YouTube videos and craft along to it.
I also have a bad habit of starting a project and then finding something else while looking for something then starting that project. Sometimes I end up doing like 5 projects all at once.
When I get a new machine, I tell her (yes, “her”) “I love you.” I love not just new machines, but also old ones when they’re working properly. And when I create crafts, there’s no such thing as wrong, even if it’s my first attempt.
My partner asked why I say “I love you” to them, and I replied, "I love them more than you." I always compliment machines when they do their job well.
