Thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. This was really a random out of the blue scenario that was very fitting during Holliday seasons.

I was exactly the same, sometimes I still do get imposter syndrome during my videos. Get your designs out there. People will love them.

Yeah I often get ideas in the middle of the night. It’s so annoying lol

I like to nourish my inspiration from all kinds of sources. Many times, as @timmytation says, it’s not about where it comes from, but when it comes. I’ve tried all sorts of tricks over the years. I’ve always used mini notepads, so I can carry one in my bag and jot down an idea the moment it strikes, and I’ve also used the notes app on my phone.

Inspiration often comes just as you’re about to fall asleep, during a dream, or when you wake up, so I used to keep a little notebook on my bedside table. But many times the idea slips away because you’re either too busy or too sleepy haha. So some time ago, I picked up the habit of switching a ring to a different, unusual finger to help me remember. But in the end, sometimes I forget what I was supposed to remember, or another idea comes and I switch it again. Now I can hardly remember what ring goes on which finger haha.

Sometimes, you consciously go looking for a source of inspiration. In that kind of inspiration, I’ve always liked to look at the creativity in the chaos of the universe. Observing shapes made by nature, or by a child… sources of creation that aren’t aware they’re creating, a spontaneous kind of creation, free from the limitations that the very intention to create can sometimes bring.

In that sense, I love watching the forms made by fluids or masses of particles. It’s closely related to kinetic art. It could be the shape made by grains of sand shaken by sound or an impact, or a brush rinsing watercolor in clean water. I love it because sometimes you’re tired of yourself, and this is a way of creating spontaneously, as free as possible from personal influence.

I can’t quite think right now of a finished example that started from this idea—though I used to apply it a lot back in university. But I think this recent project might give an idea of what I mean. There’s also present another common source of inspiration… doodling.

OMG, that forgetting what you were supposed to remember is so me as well  sometimes I go in front of the fridge because I was meaning to get something but then I stand there for a long time still thinking what I was supposed to get. Then when I walk away, or maybe after a longer period of time, that’s when I remember or maybe completely forget all together. I tried writing journals too but I just don’t know or forget what exactly I wanted to write especially when there are gremlins (my kids) distracting me:woman_facepalming:

Yes, me too, @redhada I go to do something, get there and totally forget what I was there for. Then I get sidetracked doing something else. If I have an idea, I absolutely need to write about it or do a little doodle so I remember my idea when I can spend time on it. If I don’t then the ideas I have had just vanish, forever lost in the void of my memory lol
