So i have had my machine for about 2 weeks now and as of last night the little light to trace where my project will be at stopped working. is there anything i can do? i have already unplugged it, made sure the software is updated, reset it, cleaned it and still nothing.

Hi Jacqui! Welcome in — I’m glad you reached out.
When the iEngrave’s little trace light suddenly stops working, even though the machine still engraves normally, it usually points to a hardware issue inside the laser head, not anything you did wrong.
You’ve already done all the right steps: unplugging, updating, resetting, and cleaning. Before I send you straight to support, I want to ask you two quick things that help confirm whether it’s a simple connection issue or a failed internal LED:
1. When you power the machine on, does the trace light flicker even for a split second?
2. When you run the Frame/Preview outline in your software, does the trace light turn on at all?
If the answer to either one is no, then the LED inside the laser head has stopped responding. That usually means one of these happened:
- A loose internal connector for the LED
- A failed LED diode inside the laser head
- A faulty 5V output on the small board that powers the LED
Since the trace light is separate from the actual laser, the machine can still engrave even if that LED fails.
If those two checks don’t show any activity, then this is a hardware failure inside the head, and Loklik will need to replace that part under warranty. Because your machine is only about two weeks old, they’ll take care of you. Just email Loklik Support and tell them what you’ve told us here. (Please, also let me know if you receive a resolution from support, as it will help other users who may run into the same issue.)
If the answer to either of those questions is “yes,” let me know, and we’ll take the next steps to figuring out the issue.
