Valentine’s Day Paper Cards

Valentine’s Day Card Project for Children: A Quick Guide

With Valentine’s Day coming up, I made these lovely Valentine’s Day cards for children at school to give to their parents. The whole project isn’t finished yet, as I still have an additional 20 to make! Aren’t they pretty?

To make these, follow the step-by-step guide below:

Disclaimer: This project requires a cutting machine with drawing capabilities. Not all machines support this feature. If your machine can’t draw, you can handwrite the text or use stickers instead.

Tools & Materials:

  • 300gsm Craft UK Smooth White Cardstock
  • Crayons
  • Cutting Machine with Drawing Capability
  • Pen Adapter & Fine Point Pen
  • Heart-Shaped Lollipops
  • Clear Cellophane Sleeves

Step 1: Import Design & Add Text

  1. Purchase an SVG template and teddy bear design from Design Bundles.
  2. Import both SVG files into your cutting software, and add the text “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Step 2: Set Up the Cutting Machine

  1. Choose 300gsm cardstock under heavy cardstock settings.
  2. Set the machine to use two passes for cutting, ensuring it cuts through the thick cardstock.(heavy card stock when selecting the material.)
  3. Insert the pen adapter and load a fine point pen into the second compartment (for drawing).

Step 3: Cut and Draw

  1. Click Make. The machine will first draw the text and design and then cut the card shape.
  2. Once complete, verify that the cuts are clean and accurate.

Step 4: Assemble the Card

  1. Add 2 crayons for coloring.
  2. Insert assembled card into cellophane sleeve.
  3. Add in a heart-shaped red lollipop and wrap it in a clear cellophane sleeve and seal

Final Thoughts:

You now have a cute, personalised Valentine’s Day card ready for children to color and gift to their parents!

:blue_heart:I made some of these last year. Trying to come up with something for this year. I may end up doing them again. Quick and easy since I still have my pictures.

Aww did you, these are really popular. What I can suggest is maybe adding in a little colouring book with crayons this year?

These are great! Especially for school age kids as the schools here discourage candy due to kids allergies and health concerns. This would be something everyone would enjoy! I’ll be showing this to my ex-husbands wife as she is a 3rd grade teacher and would probably love these for her students. Might just have to break in my new iCraft machine and make these for her class!!!

The same role applies here in the UK however if we buy anything it needs to be pre-packed with ingredients and get given to the children when they’re going home so it is then parents responsibility. We also have to get things that are nut free, again these are handed to the children and parents are informed regarding the treats that have been handed to them.

100% but when you’re making 60+ it gets a bit tiring LOL. I am on a hunt for A wooden die For my sizix big shot plus So I can cut these manually it will be much faster.
