I am having trouble centering a 2 1/2” round patch. I finally used a jig for placement and got the outline on the jig, put my patch on it and framed it, but when I go to engrave my design, it engraves lower than where it placed the outline of the circle. How do I get it to engrave on the patch exactly? Thanks!
Hello @ReedyKimberly! Welcome to the community. It can be quite the process getting it centered, for sure. I have to frame many, many times, and adjust after every frame until I think it looks like it’s perfectly centered on the blank.
The design you’re framing, is the boundary box that goes around the design, touching all four sides of the design? If it’s touching the bottom of the element but not the top, that could cause the design to engrave lower than the framing box. If the boundary box isn’t touching all four sides of the design, you will need to crop it (if the image is a PNG) to make sure the box is touching the outermost part of the image. If it’s an SVG, you may just have to eyeball it and adjust for the amount of space that is between the boundary box and the outermost part of the design. I hope that makes sense lol.
