🤩 Cleaning 🧼 Cutting Mats🙌 Trick

:sparkles: Cutting Mat Cleaning Tip That Actually Works! :sparkles:

I wanted to share a little trick I recently discovered for cleaning my cutting mats!

I mixed a small amount of powdered laundry detergent with just a tiny drop of Dawn dish soap and used a microfiber towel under warm water. After gently cleaning my mats, all the fuzz, lint, pet hair, and even my own hair that somehow ends up everywhere was gone! :broom::sparkles:

The biggest surprise? Some of my mats that I thought were completely worn out actually became sticky again, even stickier than before! :exploding_head:

I had tried using lint rollers several times, but my regular bond mats were so sticky that the lint roller would just stick to the mat and not remove much of anything. I felt like I was going in circles trying to remove fuzz without damaging the adhesive.

This method has been an absolute game-changer for me. The combination of warm water, powdered detergent, a tiny bit of Dawn, and a microfiber towel cleaned them beautifully and helped restore some of the tackiness.

If you’re struggling with fuzzy cutting mats, this may be worth trying before replacing them!

Nice. I have a whole post on How to Clean Your Cutting Machine Mats (and Make Them Last Longer). Just be careful, as: Different mats = different stickiness levels = different cleaning rules. My post details how to clean each type.

Mine are only standard! But it worked marvelous!! Bc I was gettting so angry bc the mats collect my hair more than anything else ! And I couldn’t get it off expect one piece at a time so the slickness of the none scented powder detergent and the dawn and microfiber towel worked magic :magic_wand: bc using the lint roller was a fail :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Yeah, the standard grip can be washed with soap, but I think on the strong grip and fabric grip you’re supposed to avoid the soap. I may try using power detergent on my standard grip, sometime, because just the dish liquid doesn’t really help much. I’ve been using L.A.'s Totally Awesome Spray, lately. It works pretty good, too.
