Clear glass sublimation by Marin

New to sublimation? Don’t worry I got you with my sublimation tutorials :wink:
And today’s tutorial is the first time for me too to sublimate a Clear glass Tumbler

Let’s go :clap:t2::clap:t2:
What we need…
:boom:Sublimation printer
:boom:Sublimation paper (Loklik)
:boom:Glass Tumbler (HTVRONT)
:boom:Tumbler press (Loklik)
:boom:Heat resistant tape
:boom:Heat resistant gloves
:boom:Parchment paper
:boom:Paper cutter or scissors

Prepare the design on any design program you like to work with, measure you space on the glass Tumbler, resize the design and then print it.
After printing of course we have to cut the design.

Clean the glass Tumbler with alcohol

start assembling it on the glass Tumbler and secure it with the heat resistant tape ( I prefare to put the tape on every side of the design)

Now because I was working with clear glass Tumbler for the first time i covered it with parchment paper and then turned on the Tumbler press on
195° for 240 seconds

Slowly and carefully put your glass Tumbler into the Tumbler press once it reaches the correct temperature.

As you will see in the picture the Tumbler press doesn’t close completely on the glass Tumbler…
be careful if you are printing a whole sheet design you ja to rotate it in the middle of the time.
In my case my design was just front and back so I placed the Tumbler to make the side with no design facing up so I didn’t rotate it later.

Now that the time is done I let my Tumbler cool completely then started peeling it slowly

And just like that all my fears ran away as soon as I saw the wonderful results :heart_eyes:

So if you are still thinking of a father’s day gift don’t hesitate to give it a try.

@Marino
Wow this looks amazing :star_struck:
I didn’t know that clear glass could be sublimated, does it need a special coating?
Only knew about the special frosted glass tumblers.

Yes, they need to be sublimation glass tumblers, same as the sublimation frosted glass tumblers

Yes as Belle said they are sublimation Tumblers and there are two types frosty and clear. I was afraid how the pictures will show but eventually they show pretty good when the glass is filled with liquids that have a colour or are dark😊

Who is going to try this kind of glasses for sublimation?

I would love to give it a try… still on the edge with buying a sublimation printer. But if I do get one, this would be a great project to try.
