Hi, Kimberly, I know I sent you a link to one thread in the FB messenger group, but here’s another one you may want to check out for setting up a brand new printer. Hope it helps. Let us know if any of these suggestions worked for you.

@Kimberly_Leonardo, Congrats on getting your DTF printer set up — that first power‑on is always exciting, even when it throws a curveball. You’re definitely not alone in this, and the good news is that color channels not flowing at first is a pretty common hiccup.

A few things you can try:

:rainbow: 1. Run a couple of head cleanings
Sometimes the color channels just need a little help getting started. Running 2–3 cleanings (with a few minutes between each) can usually pull the ink through.

:test_tube: 2. Check your dampers
Make sure the dampers for CMYK are fully seated and clicked in. If one isn’t sealed properly, that color won’t pull ink.

:arrows_counterclockwise: 3. Gently prime the lines
If your printer has manual priming syringes, you can very gently pull ink through each color line until you see it reach the damper. Don’t force it — just a light pull to get things moving.

:soap: 4. Make sure your ink bottles are vented
If the vents are closed, the printer can’t pull ink. A tiny detail, but it makes a huge difference.

:fire_extinguisher: 5. Check for air gaps
If you see big pockets of air in the CMYK tubes, they may need to be primed or the printer may need a few more cleanings to push the air out.

You’re doing great — DTF has a learning curve, but once you get past these first setup quirks, it gets so much smoother. If you can share which printer model you have, folks can give even more specific steps.

You’ve got this, and we’re happy to help you get up and running.

Great question! On the LOKLIK DTF printer, the dampers sit right above the printhead and checking them is mostly a visual inspection to make sure each one is fully seated and has ink flowing into it.

Here’s how you can check them:

:wrench: How to check your dampers

• Open the top cover and look for the small rectangular cartridges sitting on top of the printhead — those are your dampers.
• Each damper should be firmly clicked into place. If one is loose, that color won’t pull ink.
• You should also see ink inside each damper. If one looks empty or has a big air gap, that channel may need priming.

Here’s a link that might help you locate your dampers.

I usually get it flowing by pulling the ink through the dampers  Make sure to clean the syringe before using on each color, or a seperate syringe for each color is great!

I also put pulled ink rightr back into the ink bottle so it is not wasted.
Good luck!
