UNDERSTANDING THE SUBLIMATION PROCESS

Sublimation is a chemical process where heat turns solid dye into gas, which then bonds with polyester fibers. It’s not just “printing”—it’s embedding the ink into the fibers. For sublimation to work properly:

  • The substrate must contain polyester (Adhesive vinyl, laminating sheets, Sublimation HTV - which I did in this tutorial!)

  • The ink must be “sublimation ink” - which is I have installed to my sublimation printer.

  • The process involves “heat and pressure”, typically using a heat press - which is I used in this video

Wow! Another great tutorial! I love it! I can’t believed that HTV Sub vinyl for dark fabrics and the clear one are not only for fabrics but you found a way to work with glass as well. Excellent job! I can’t wait for your more discovery

Thank so much  I really love all the outcomes but I have my favorite. Love the wide application of HTVRONT Sublimation HTV, not only for fabrics but can also applied to a smooth glass surface and if I owned the HTVRONT company, I would probably not limit the applications of this to fabric but to include these glass cutting boards. The sublimation blanks were not cheap and buying these dollar tree glass cutting boards are a great choice! I think, I am very satisfied with the outcomes using those different substrates. Also, using this product as a home decor I think the sublimation ink will hold up last longer ‘coz these glasses weren’t washed very often as compared to t-shirts, sweatshirts, and the like…
