Hey
My fist car vas a vw pasat stationcar in 2011 it vas silver gray. I got my Drivers license when I was expecting our second child and we was moving out of the city.
Today i drive a blue Skoda fabia stationcar.
I donāt like driving so when my husband is with me he is the driver and I sit beside him and knit.
My first car I bought in 1998. I was 16 and working at KFC. Each week, I took my whole paycheck and gave it to the guy who was selling his daughterās 1984 Honda Prelude. We made a deal that would allow him to keep the car until I had paid all of the $2800 he was asking for it. I made the last payment and my mom had to drive the car home, as I didnāt know how to drive a stick shift. She told me I would have to learn how to drive it like she learned how to drive her first stick shift, and that was to just get in and drive, figure it out on my own. All weekend, I tried to drive the car. I was terrible at it. I took my aunt for a ride, and we were both being jerked back and forth, as I couldnāt get past second gear. I was so frustrated and just wanted to give up. Monday came around and I asked my mom if she would take my car to work and I take hers to school. She said, āNope.ā So, I got in my lil Prelude and drove very slowly to school, pretty much in second gear the whole time, until I came to the middle school crossing guard. I had to stop. When he motioned for me to go, I pushed the gas, the car died. I started it back up, pushed the gas, and the car died. I did this probably 3 or 4 times, each time making it about a foot into the intersection. Everyone was looking at me crazy, including the aggravated crossing guard who was giving me this horrible death stare. I was so embarrassed. I finally got the car to go. Once I got down the road, puttering along so slowly, I realized I had been trying to take off in third gear! I must have just made it to third when I was stopped by the crossing guard, but thatās the first time I made it to third, and to think that I had actually been able to take off from third gear, very slowly, gave me the confidence, and knowledge, to actually shift it to third while driving. I loved that little car once I learned how to drive it. Over the years, Iāve had several different cars. However, right now, I donāt have a vehicle. The last one I had, a Hyundai, I used to DoorDash with in 2023. I DoorDashed with it until it completely gave up on life. So, now, I just ride with my husband in his big ol Ford truck. Hoping to get another car soon, because I donāt like driving big ol trucks lol. The only crafts Iāve made that were car related, I did a watercolor painting of a 1967 GTO for my dad, I drew a truck with graphite pencil, and a race car/buggy, and I made some Houston Texans decal stickers for my husband, a couple of his friends, and our nephew using printable vinyl. I have pics of the artworks, but not of the decal stickers.
Well not my first car . It is a car I saw at a car show in NY. I came home and told the dealer I saw this beautiful car in his brand. He said kid it a concept car. They never make them. 6 mo later I get a call from my dealer. Come see us . I arrive and he gives me the keys to a car. Go out back. You will
Know what car. Take it for a spin. I drove the 1st. One production. Car came out for sale 3 months later. I still have the car. 30 years later. Made a lot of improvements and mods over the years. Many people never saw one. At car shows judges sometimes donāt recognize it. I tried to add images of what I printed to wear at car shows. I donāt know where they ended up. If you find them can you move them here?

Omg! @Samantha_Bryant. Thank you for sharing! yes, many people have those awkward moments when learning to drive. You told it so vividly, I could totally picture it! lol Such a fun memory to look back on!
My first car was a brown Chevy Nova. I think it may have been a 1975, I really donāt remember. It was given to us by my father-in- law. Although it was an older car, this was in the late 80ās, it ran good and served us for a long time.
Currently I drive a midnight blue Mercedes GLE 350.We love to travel and take road trips.
For years we drove a Suburban. It had TV screens. Weād travel with my grandchildren. They would watch movies as we traveled loved taking them to beach. Museums is one of our favorites.
We had so many memorable vacations with them. They are turning 21, 20 and 19 within the next month.
I donāt have any decorations such as stickers or decals on any of my cars. I have made car decals for customers. If I can find a picture, Iāll post it.
Iāve had driving lessons before and was able to secure my own license but now itās only purpose is to be a valid ID
With my poor eyesight (-550 eye-grade plus one eye with astigmatism ) and lack of patience during traffic plus the fear of bumping something or worse someone, I think driving might not be for me
I do ride a motor scooter inside the subdivision though where thereās not much traffic
Hey there!
My first car was a 1997 Buick Le Sabre and I bought that in 2017. It was an old faithful type of car, not beat up but was definitely loved and broken in haha. I remember driving to Tennessee (from Michigan) to go to college and that got me there safely and lasted a couple years before I got my second car.
Oh, wow all these stories take me back, thank you all for sharing.
I love driving, always have. Some of my favorite past memories were working with my Dad in the garage. My first car was a Mitsubishi Colt. Thatās the car I learnt to drive in. But my first vehicle was a Kawaski Ninja ZX-6R. Absolutely loved that bike. Also had some dirt bikes as well. I started racing cars and motor bikes whenever I could. Dad was a full time motor mechanic, and he came home from work one Friday. He said do you want to take a drive with me tomorrow. I said I guess so. He drove me to his work and we parked around back. I frequently did this, just pop in and grab something or sort something out so I didnāt think anything of it. I was waiting in the car and out of the corner of my eye I saw something red and shinny. I looked and it was a beautiful bright red Mitsubishi lancer coupe. I remember thinking, WOW now thatās a cool car. It even had matching red hub caps. Then it stopped and my dad gets out of the car. I was like huh, whatās he doing. I got out of the car and walked over to him, he had a huge smile on his face and said so do you like it. I said hell yeah itās so cool, I would love to have a car like this. He said well I havenāt put it up for sale yet because I wanted to show you first and if you liked it, you could buy it. I was speechless, my Dad looked at me like are you ok. Anyway long story short, we did all the paper work and I drove home my new car that day. Sold the Mitsubishi colt to a new learner driver and then the fun began. I worked on my lancer every free chance I got. Bought new tires, replaced the old radio unit and old speakers with new ones, added a turbo and heaps of decals and racing strips and a bunch of other things. I entered races, won some, lost some but it still is by far the coolest car Iāve owned simply because it was my first race car.
I know drive a Toyota Kluger which I named Freddy. Heās big enough to fit my doggo in and all my craft fair stuff.
These are some of my projects I have made
T-shirt for my dad, he goes to Corvette shows with his Corvette
My first car was a 91 delta 88 Oldsmobile that the guy my foster mom was dating grandma had owned he was from a small town in Illinois they meat on match dot com but when we had gone to his home town he actually who taught me to drive well the car only had like 60k miles on it in 2005/2006 I honestly didnāt care to drive as a kid before being out in Forster are I was not in cars a lot and my adopted mom was not super helpful mentally she was toxic. Well he agreed to sell the car to me for 2k cause she refused to let me have it gifted to me. He did sneak me the title at graduation after she had told me the military could waste their money on me instead of her . I took the car back to the summer camp I was working at for the summer taught kids crafts, archery rifle (hand pump BB guns) the car was old school fancy when you tuned it on the radio would read out said good morning good afternoon and good evening. My senior year they had been working on the school but since I went to a tech school half the day for cooking I was still one of the few that could park closer to the school so lots of coffee run before school and adventures between schools with friends. We hen I joined the navy I let a friend use the car while I was gone they ended out crashing the car they were not hurt cause the car was a boat on wheels but it totaled my poor car. After deployment I got a 2006 Santa in a dark blue that car I got right before a road trip from Virginia to Wisconsin then in 008 I had a stroke and was told in 2009 I couldnāt drive I made the dumb mistake of trading it in and hoping to be cleared to drive again that never happened⦠but now I get to ride on back of the motorcycle with my husband and be a passenger I miss the independence of driving but itās just not safe with my vision and reaction time.
Iāve never had a car if my own. When I started driving I used my parents car which was a Nissan Sentra at the time. After I got married my husband and I had an older Toyota Corolla and we loved that car but when we found out we were going to be parents we wanted something a bit bigger. It was hard letting that car go but we had to as our little family grew. Iāve never thought of making any crafts for the car but maybe now Iāll have an idea to make something to make it more personal and add a little flair
I donāt have my first car yet but since I was a college student, I wanted to have a mini van (every wagon) and I wanted to paint it purple and white. Then the ceiling inside that car I wanted it to be like the one they are using in Artista Van (just like the picture below).
I also want to have a red Toyota Hilux because I love nature trips.
Still manifesting to have any one if this someday.
Oh I love this story!! Your dad sounds like the absolute cooles, what a legendary surprise with that red Lancer! And I can totally imagine you zooming around on that Ninja ZX-6R too.
