What a beautiful journey through your cars and travels!
And itâs so heartwarming to hear how you made those memories with grandkids, theyâre all grown up now! Time really flies. ![]()
Yeah, heâs the coolest Dad ever.
we were gifted a second hand car on our wedding day⌠my father announced it during his toast
itâs a mitsubishi mirage and we still use it now ![]()
Oh wow what a lovely wedding gift.
@Lucky very cool car crafts. The hat looks great
I remember my first car was a Chevrolet Eurosport. Who can even remember the year? LOL!! Now I drive a 2023 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and wow have I come a long way. I have made plenty of roadtrips because my other drive is the Land Yacht Motorhome and we drive all over the US with that thing. Perhaps my favorite place we have visited was Glacier National Park in Montana. We drove the truck I had at that time (I have had lots of trucks since that Eurosport) up the âRoad to the Sunâ to the top of the park. I saw one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen at St. Maryâs Lake. The time of the day was perfect, the wind was not blowing, and I literally pulled a U-Turn to snap the most fantastic photo that captured that entire trip. I am amazed every time I look at it and I hope by me sharing it, you are as well!
Long before I ever owned a car, I was already dreaming in decals.
It was 2008, and I was in the Philippinesâno fancy machines, no vinyl cutters, just a small blade, steady hands, and a heart full of ambition. I designed each decal myself, tracing lines with care and cutting them one by one. I didnât know what car Iâd own someday, but I knew it would wear my art proudly. I packed those decals and brought them with me across the ocean, tucked between layers of hope and excitement.
Fast forward to 2010: I had just migrated to the U.S., and my first baby on wheels was a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, manual shift. She was sleek, clean, and fastâor at least she made me feel fast. I thought sheâd help me fly to work, and in many ways, she did. That car wasnât just transportationâit was my companion, my confidante. I talked to her during drives, pampered her with car washes, and poured love into every repair. Even after I got married, we kept her going for 14 years, investing time and money into her heartbeat. Until one day, at a four-way stop, another driver crashed into her. My heart shattered. I was angry, devastatedâbut grateful my husband was okay. Letting her go felt like saying goodbye to a family member.
Then came 2020, and with it, a new love: a 2017 Honda Accord Sports SE with just 12,000 miles. Dark red, tinted glass, heated leather seatsâit was luxury wrapped in style. I even made a matching Honda face mask during the pandemic, and the dealership manager loved it so much he ordered a dozen. That car didnât just turn headsâit sparked creativity.
In 2021, my husband and I upgraded his old 1997 Chevy Tahoe K1500 to a 2008 Chevy Tahoe Z1 Sports Edition. We needed something reliable for long family road trips, something that could haul dreams and luggage alike.
Summer brought a playful twist. I found myself behind the wheel of a 2007 Jaguar XK and a 2001 Corvetteâjust for fun. Grocery runs, school pickups, Sunday cruises up north with no traffic in sight. I loved choosing my ride based on my mood, and for Fatherâs Day, I crafted a sporty handmade card for my father-in-law, inspired by his Corvette.
Today, I drive the 2008 Tahoe for school drop-offs and late-night soccer practices. My husband takes the Honda for his longer commute. And while the cars may change, the memories stay parked in my heart.
From hand-cut decals to heartfelt drives, every vehicle has been more than metal and wheelsâitâs been a chapter in my story. And Iâm still writing.
My first car was an old mustang! It was a good little carâŚ
And hereâs my car craft⌠car coasters! I finally made a set, theyâre so cute!
My first car at 16 was a total hunk of junk, but I bought it myself, so I was proud! Luckily, things only went uphill from there. My first new car was a Toyota RAV4, then came a Volkswagen Passat (cute but kind of a dud even fresh off the lot). After that, I had not one but two Jeep Compasses.
Now Iâm cruising in a Kia Sorento Hybrid, and let me tell you, itâs my favorite by far! Smooth, roomy, and Iâm obsessed. My hubby actually downsized from his pickup so I could get the bigger SUV (keeper, right?). He went for a Kia Telluride instead of another Ram. He misses his truck a little, but I spruced his ride up so it felt more like him.
My first car was a Daihatsu Tanto
since I had just gotten my driverâs license, I wanted an older car to practice. After a few months of buying this car, the engine started to fail and it died
Then we bought a Toyota Pixis Epoch
our beloved Uber Kids
which is the car I still use today.
I was driving around with my kids and suddenlyâŚ. Google Street View car passing by
Here in Japan, we have these cars with yellow license plates, which are small cars. The engine doesnât reach 1,000 cc. They are more economical in terms of fuel consumption and taxes are cheaper too.
But, one day, maybe⌠this is what I would like to drive ![]()
These are really cool looking cars!
I hope you get your dream car one day ![]()
@rinsky OMG my heart broke too when you said your Mitsubishi was totaled. My heart shattered when I couldnât get a baby seat in the back of my lancer. I really loved that car but I had to upgrade to a bigger one when we started our family. You are so blessed with all the cars you have had.
@Cory_Barger What a lovely pic, and that is my dream one day. To get a camper van and tour around the country. Would be so lovely.
@Stephanie_Boone What a cool craft, would love to know how you made them? Is it just adhesive vinyl?
@99YearsCreations You gotta have a junk car as your first, something to look forward too lol
@jana_dori Hope you get your dream car one day. If I canât have my Austin Martin I think Iâm gonna get a Kia Stinger as my next car.
Love It! ![]()

Itâs sublimation!
My First automobile I got to drive was a Old Ford Pickup Truck when I lived in Dunseith, North Dakota. Now my very first automobile that my brother purchase for me with my own money because he thought he knew everything was a 1988 Delta 88 yep a Boat o wheels with a convertible top at that time I was living in California with 2 kiddos. I hated it at first however it got me to point A to point B and occasionally to point C if needed. Well 1 day it had a flat tire and someone cut into the Fabric top and letâs just say my land lady had it towed from the apartment complex. I did not have the money to pay the tow fee or the money to fix the Convertible top, so I just let it go. I love trucks and alternate with a 2011 Chevy Silverado and a 2023 Chevy Tahoe (the Tahoe belongs to my daughter who is a college student she also has 2 autos; lol we told our kids always have a backup because you never know). I made a few Tumblers and a License plate with Corvettes on them. When hubby retired from the Marine Corps I got him his Dream Car a C5 Corvette
I got my license in 1982. My parents had one car - a 1978 Plymouth Volare. Locally, high schoolers and college kids cruised the highway, basically driving up and back along a 4 mile stretch. The night the Brewers won the pennant, I took that Volare out and cruised thru a half tank of gas with friends hanging out the windows. A year later, I got my own car - a 1981 Horizon TC3. A 4-speed manual transmission and I had no clue how to drive stick. The next day I asked my Dad which car I should take to school and he told me to take mine. I told him I didnât know how to drive stick and his words of advice still live
clearly in my head. A few simple words - âWhen it sounds like it wants to be shifted, shift it.â That was my training. Lots of stalls, maybe some panic at a stop on a hill but by the end of that weekend, I was a pro. Well, until I backed down the driveway and ended up in the ditchâŚ
I now drive a 2021 Jeep Cherokee in a lovely Velvet Red and love it! It needed something so I added a bit of inspiration to my trailer hitch for those driving behind me.
I made those stickers for my nephewâs new car I showed you before
BUT since they suffered from sun exposure, I made these permanent vinyl decals.
The scratch decal is to cover up the actual scratch the mirror had when he bought it secondhand.
I wanted them to be discreet, faithfull to McQueen but not too scandalous. The printed stickers are cool, but those are elegant.
I have them saved, Iâm waiting for the car to be washed so I can apply them, but university life is very busy. ![]()
My first car was a hand-me-down Saturn that my drove for many years. I was on its last leg literally when it finally gave out on me at Walmart while 38 weeks pregnant!!! Thankfully we were able to get a Honda Pilot, a perfect car for starting a family that served us well for 13 years.
As for a car themed craft, I recently made this cake topper for a new game that is a mash up on car racing and soccer, interesting and weird at the same time. Lol.
I donât think itâs as good as Rocket League
