🌊 Friday Fun | Dream Big, Start Small

Hello crafty friends!

This week I watched the movie Young Woman and the Sea, and wow! what a beautiful reminder that even the biggest dreams begin with one small step, one small practice, one moment of courage. Sometimes all it takes is deciding to start, even when the goal feels far away.

Crafting is the same, isn’t it?

Every project, every skill, every idea starts with a tiny beginning.

So for this week’s Friday Fun, let’s share our dreams together.

:speech_balloon: Let’s share!

What’s a craft dream you want to move toward?

  • A big project you’ve always wanted to make but haven’t started yet

  • A new skill or tool you hope to learn someday

  • A cozy craft room you dream of building

  • A handmade gift you’ve always wanted to make

Or a dream you already achieved, and you’re so proud of it!

Big or small, realistic or totally wild, this is our space to dream together.

:gift: Reward:

Everyone who joins will earn 30 cheers, and 1 lucky participant will win a Permanent Adhesive Vinyl Roll - 12"x10 Ft. If we reach 20 participants, we’ll pick 2 winners to receive material gifts!

:date: Ends: Monday, Dec 1

Let’s fill this space with beautiful memories, and the crafts that help us keep them close! :orange_heart:

right now I dream of owning and learning how to 3d print. I recently had a bad experience with a manufacturer selling my ideas themselves so I was heartbroken… I would like to make my own designs and print them myself…

also since we have a pick & press booth… would love to have our own DTF printer someday… but for now we outsource…

One of my biggest dreams is to one day open a brick-and-mortar store dedicated to showcasing and selling all of my handmade creations. I imagine walking into a space that feels like pure inspiration—a place where creativity lives and breathes.

Inside, there would be a large studio where I can make the magic happen:

• Shelves overflowing with fabric for sewing projects

• Walls lined with vinyl rolls, T-shirts, and merchandise ready for custom designs

• Cozy corners for painting, clay projects, and other hands-on crafts

It wouldn’t just be a shop—it would be a hub of creativity, a place where ideas come to life and where the community could see the process as much as the finished product. Maybe they could even join in and craft something themselves.

Sharing this dream makes me smile, because even if it’s not here yet, I know every project I make today is a step closer to that vision. :sparkling_heart:

First I love learning new things this year getting the iEngrave was a crafting dream I wanted to laser engage things so that was exciting I am proud of all the things I have made mess up learning and everything.
A Crafting dream I have is getting to be a product tester I really want to be a super secret squirrel tester of a not released item. I like figuring things out and seeing beyond what’s in front of you. But I also want to do it to be a person that can help trouble shoot things. I honestly enjoy helping other so what better way then something like that. To have something you contributed to be part of a Q&A on a product.

I hope one day I can get the iengrave to learn about laser engraving, all the projects made with the iengrave look so versatile and just give off a professional look. It would be my next big purchase once I save up enough money for it.

If I had to dream big, I’d dream of an ideal workspace that combines several things:

I miss the shared workspaces of university or when I shared a studio with friends and classmates, so it would be a place open to visitors.

I also miss the open, two-story spaces of those times, so ideally it would be a loft with a window gallery at the entrance. With another large window :window: letting in plenty of light, like the one in my landscape classroom at the top of the university faculty building, with wonderful views of Madrid or a small port on a Greek island.

It would have different areas:

  • One for working with the computer :desktop_computer: and all the electronic machines (display tablets, cutting and printing plotters and large-format printers :printer:, heat presses, a 3D printer, the sewing machine in its own corner…). :sewing_needle:
  • A painting corner :art: where I could at least put a couple of easels and storage for canvases, a large free wall for painting on a grand scale, an etching press, separated by a large high table, a rough drafting area with woodworking tools and two or three good quality cutting tools.
  • The place would also have an endless backdrop and lighting setup, a mini recording studio :movie_camera:. Not far away, a darkroom to enjoy old analog photography :camera_flash:
  • A living area, with large cozy sofas and a huge coffee table :coffee: and a small kitchen :hocho: and bar :cocktail:, a great place to sketch while chatting, or while watching a film projected onto a large white wall, which also serves as an exhibition space :framed_picture:. Add a little low stage with some instruments :guitar: and a mic :microphone:
  • In the center of it all, a huge area with a couple of endless tables.
  • And since this place was going to be so wonderful, why going out? Let’s add a bedroom :bed: and a bathroom :bathtub: and I’m all set and I’m staying to live there happy ever after ! :joy:

My biggest dream currently is to have a constant class bi weekly or once a month or however it happens but I want a class where I can show people how to create things and have the necessary equipment that maybe they don’t have to money buy buy can come and create in a safe space to occupy their time in a healthy way.

I want multiple embroidery machines
Cutting machines
Presses
Hat presses
Button presses
Printers
Dtf printers
Sublimation printers etc

I want there to be space and opportunity for things to occur and maybe just be able to get away and also where it’s not expensive. If I could run a non profit that would be great but I don’t want to be broke trying to create a space for others but I wish I could sit and help
Others and that takes the weight of perfection off me and places it on the user and I’m there with supplies and machines.

My crafting dream is to finally be able to afford a UV printer! I have a customer that owns several companies and has me asked me for things I’m not able to make and I would love to branch out with what I make. I would also like to be able to grow my social media but I am not good with public speaking let alone putting my self on camera. Makes me anxious just thinking about it. :see_no_evil: I would love to be able to open a little store combined with a coffee shop that people can come in and craft their own items and have a place to craft and bond over a cup of coffee.

All wonderful ideas. I really like the space to just relax too. Places like Google have them and they say it provides inspiration and actually increases productivity.
I think you’ll need somewhere the size of a warehouse though. Dream big!

My dream for the nearer future is to get into laser engraving, especially on wood and unusual materials. This interests me much more than laser cutting. :sparkler:
Long term I’d love to have a 3D printer. I also want to try selling my designs, both digital and finished products. Hopefully there’s someone out there who’s crazy enough to buy something I make!

If I’m realistic, my dream is pretty much the same than yours.

I believe my dream would be to teach others how to do the things I do. I had a friend come over from work . She and I made about a dozen items, ornaments, laser engraved some tumblers, Santa Sacks and Pants, etc. I charged her for materials and just a bit more but she was so excited to be able to make gifts for her family and friends. It’s certainly not about making money for me, it’s more the joy of seeing a smile on someone’s face.
