As we get closer to the holiday season, I’ve been thinking about how many of our warmest memories come from Christmas, the laughter, the gifts that meant something special, the traditions that make our homes feel magical, and of course… the crafts we create along the way.
Christmas has a way of staying in our hearts, doesn’t it?
Sometimes it’s a tiny handmade ornament, a surprise gift we never forgot, or a moment with family that still makes us smile years later.
So for this week’s Friday Fun, let’s celebrate the memories that make this season so special.
Share with us!

Let’s fill this space with beautiful memories and the crafts that help us keep them close!
This Christmas we are celebrating Christmas with my sister and her girls, my brother, my mother and father and his wife. So my daughter and I have made Christmas baubles with everyone’s names on them to hang on the Christmas tree. I love it when the family is together and sings Christmas carols while we walk around the Christmas tree.
The year was 1987, Christmas Eve. We were expecting our beautiful baby girl around New Year’s… but life had other plans.
At 3:30 that morning, my water broke, and by 8:00 AM I was holding the cutest baby BOY you’ve ever seen.
We named him John IV, because he was born on his great-grandfather’s birthday — a gift and a legacy all in one.
He was such a special little boy. My mini-me in every way. I had no idea then that I’d only get to keep him for 21 years, but oh, how precious those 21 years were.
Since 2009, every Christmas Eve morning belongs to him. I celebrate him quietly, choosing one thing each year to remember.
This year, it’s his smile… the one that could brighten any room.
It seems as if I’ve shared this here before. Since you are asking, I’ll share again. For as long as I can remember. At least 50 years, my family, grand parents on both side, my aunts and uncles and my cousins, have gotten together on Christmas Eve.
We get together for food, fun and fellowship. Originally my mom hosted. Needless to say over the years a lot has changed. We’ve lost family members. We’ve gained family members. Yet, the tradition still stands.
Currently, my first cousins and I rotate who host. We still come together for food, fun and fellowship. Last year I hosted. It was an honor. My mom is currently the oldest of us now. I’m so blessed to still have here to celebrate with us and to have had the opportunity to host.
Just thinking about it as I type, that’s a long time. I look forward to it each year.
My best Christmas memories are of cooking with my mom and sister’s when i was little. My dad would man the radio and let us know how close Santa was so I could get to bed in time. Although, both of my parents are no longer with us these memories mean the world to me. When I really miss my mom I love to cook one of her meals for my family. Even though I’m the one cooking the meal I still feel all the love and care I felt being taught by her to cook. It’s important to me to leave my kids with special memories to comfort them when I’m no longer physically with them.
It was just last night, my husbnd and I took our kids to a Holiday festival. Lights everywhere, snow was fallong. It felt magical. On the way back home, we played Christmas music, we were singing, laughing. It felt like the best night ever. So thankful for these moments
what comes to mind is the toy that I got from my uncle for Christmas back in 1996 I think… it’s Sailor Moon’s Crisis compact… I still have it today and is displayed along with my other collections
This was our 1st Christmas out of the country. We celebrated it at Singapore where my BIL is working. Thankful for this opportunity to travel and spend quality time with family while enjoying and exploring another city
