🎨 Friday Fun | If your favorite craft material had its own pattern, what would it look like?

Happy Friday, everyone!

Recently, I’ve been really drawn to Akira Minagawa’s fabric patterns. The soft colors, hand-drawn feel, and little animals, flowers, and nature-inspired details make them feel so full of story. Some patterns don’t just look beautiful, they capture a mood.

That inspired this week’s Friday Fun question:

If your favorite craft material had its own signature pattern, what would it look like?

Would it be tiny flowers, playful dots, cute animals, soft vintage prints, hand-drawn lines, or something inspired by nature? :herb:

And what material would you love to see first, vinyl, HTV, sticker paper, fabric, or something else?

Share your idea in the comments, and if you have any inspiration pictures, feel free to share them. We’d love to see them.

:gift: Reward:

Everyone who joins earns 30 Cheers. 1 lucky participant will receive a small material gift: Permanent Adhesive Vinyl Roll - 12"x5 Ft (or a material of equal value) If we reach 30 participants, we’ll pick 2 lucky participants to receive surprise material gifts!

:date: Ends: next Monday, Mar 23

Can’t wait to hear your ideas! Let’s fill this Friday with beautiful patterns, creative materials, and a little design inspiration.

Based upon my current mood, I think, I would like something bright and cheerful. I can see vibrant deep blues, whites and yellows, in various shapes.

Wow! I can already imagine the soft, flowing wave lines, that would look amazing. :ocean:

Patterns inspired by gothic novels, dark purple, intricate patterns, ravens, roses, skulls and so on. Colour palette from black to a moody orange (no Halloween type of stuff), blood red, emerald green etc. and patterns of nature.
Probably just me but this is my type of energy.

I absolutely love Paisley prints! Whenever I buy fabric for sewing, I go straight for Paisley. :scream: Omg, it would be so awesome to have some HTVRONT Paisley patterned vinyl! Please tell me that’s possible.

Edit: Here is a wine tote I made with some gorgeous Paisley print fabric and a bolt of fabric I haven’t used yet.

My favorite material to engrave is slate. If this would come with a holographic coating on it, that could be pretty cool. The engraving would really be another layer of depth on it.
Speaking of holographic - I had bought the HTVRONT sample pack of holographic HTV that came with around 8 different colors. One was gold to green. I have an order for 18 shirts to do for a family vacation and this color combo would be perfect but it is not sold individually by color so I’m stuck with plain gold, I guess. Unless I buy about 14 packs of the samples…

I would love cartoon animals with cartoon drawings of my 2 year old granddaughter. Maybe a safari theme with her dressed in a little outfit and hat. I think it would be a cute fabric to make her some summer outfits.

I love holographic everything and chameleon colors. The slate idea sounds so cool.

I love checkered patterns and stars too! I have them in most of my designs

Vinyl film permanent or heat transfer with a wood grain pattern might be cool for making palm trees and trees—something with palm leaves, or leaves and pink flowers—and adding alpaca patterns and hearts would be nice too

That is hilarious I was just fixing to start a post and paisley is one of my favorites so I will go brain for a minute on my next idea!

I’m sure the more requests we have for it, the more likely they may add it as a vinyl pattern. Just a thought.:+1: It’s my favorite too!

Yes, I’m down for the wood grain! I’ve got some woodgrain cardstock on my Amazon wishlist, but I think woodgrain vinyl would be fantastic!

Ok, @Samantha_Bryant since you said that about maybe the more who just on bandwagon maybe the print could be created! I absolutely adore :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: paisley print ! My grandmother used to make me the cutest outfits I saw with paisley print fabric I have always loved the paisley pattern on scrapbooking and shorts and even bed spreads and pillow shams! It’s so versatile and beautiful and for me it’s nostalgic because it gives me times remembered with my family before they passed away!

Yes, it says if your “favorite material had a signature pattern, what would it look like.” So, it’s whatever your favorite is, right? Regardless of whether someone said it already. :woman_shrugging:t3:

I wouldn’t want to keep you from sharing your story if it’s your favorite. It can be both of our favorites.:+1: And if it’s nostalgic for you and helps you to remember your grandmother, that’s even more of a reason to share it as your favorite.

I love prints, and it’s hard to narrow it down because I go crazy every time I go fabric shopping. My favorites are gingham (Vichy), Liberty prints, florals, and stripes.
