Canāt wait to hear your mini stories, the small things often mean the most.
Iāve never carried a handbag ā theyāre just not my thing. Iāve always been a bit of a tomboy. My dad was a motor mechanic, and he always told me never to weigh down my car keys, so Iāve never had keychains or anything like that.
But I do have one little companion. Iām not even sure where he came from or how I ended up with him, but thereās a small red teddy bear that lives on my dashboard. Heās my ādriving buddy,ā as I call him. Heās followed me from car to car for as long as I can remember, and heās still with me now.
Iāll add a photo tomorrow when itās light outside
I always carry my car keychains wherever I go. These resin keychains are the ones I made for my daughterās whole soccer team to cherishāa tiny reminder of all the hard work, dedication, and teamwork that turned them into CHAMPIONS. I kept one of each design for myself, ācoz I want to remember the season they dominated their league division, Presidentās Cup, and Surf Challengeā¦backātoābackātoāback champs in one unforgettable run.
When my kids were going thru Sunday school, all the families gathered for breakfast once a month for some group activities and discussions. They would sometimes hand out little things and I had gotten a coin with Jesus on one side and the words Have mercy on us on the back. I started carrying that coin with me every time I wore pants with a pocket just as a reminder that He is always with me. That was about 15 years ago and I still carry it every day. Our company is very safety conscious and hands out a new Safety Coin every year that we are encouraged to carry. One of the VPās once asked to see my safety coin and I pulled out mine instead and told him that Jesus trumps the safety coin. He agreed.
I love making resin art. This glitter resin keychain is one I created, and Iām absolutely in love with how resin transforms. Itās beautiful how each piece settles on its own, creating a one-of-a-kind work of art every single time.
I donāt carry a bag, as I donāt really carry anything with me but my phone. I have a bag in which I keep my embroidery stuff. I have a bag in which I keep my Nikon camera and accessories, but as far as a purse ā I have several ā but they stay in a cabinet and are empty. Iāll use them if I have to go somewhere for which I need to carry a lot of stuff with me. I donāt have a vehicle, anymore, so no need for keys. I guess, the only thing I really carry with me at all times is Jesus⦠in my heart.
Might sound strange but I always carry a āmultitool kitā with me. Ever since I was a child (grew up on a small farm, so there was always something to replace or repair ) my dad showed me a lot and always encouraged me to try to fix it myself. Itās broken anyway so why not try it
So I have a wristlet wallet that I carry everywhere with me and my grandbaby has decided that the soft beaded textured balls on. It are now his teething rings, so I had to make sure that I sanitized it very well and let him have it when I watched him the other day! he is truly amused by this thing!
When my son was in 4th or 5th grade (2006 or so) our local Walmart had a dog tag/key tag machine. My son made this for me and gave it to me for Motherās Day that year. Iāve had it clipped to what ever purse Iām using ever since.
I have a purse so I can have my EpiPen and inhaler I have sized my bag down as I have gotten older too I have one that can be used as a hip bag on the motorcycle so itās kinda AWSOME lol I have had a donāt be salty pin on it that is fun but I mad a keychain for our truck keys when we got it in 2015 with big band theory ribbon⦠the truck was so smart we named the truck Sheldon so it was fitting I canāt drive do to medical reasons but at least could make a fun keychain. We donāt keep a lot on the car keys.
I made a pen with Fimo clay. It has been rattling around in my purse for 3 years now. it probably needs replaced but I made it in my favorite colors ⦠my hair matches it now ⦠LOL. Someday I will replace it but for now whenever I need to fill out forms at the doctors office or write a quick note it is always there and gets a lot of attention wherever I go.
I always carry this key ring with me when the weather is good for cycling. I got it a few years ago from one of my 2nd grade students that she had made after school. It went on the key right away so she saw that I would use it every day and with great pleasure.
He made me another one that I canāt find, but it had the Spiderman emblem on it and it said something like āI didnāt do it, but Iām sorry anyway!ā LOL
My daughter is still my ābaby girlā at 24 years old. Several years ago she gave me a tag for keychain that says " there is this girl, she stole my , she calls me DADDY". I put that on my keyring right then and itās never left. Her and my son (26) are two of the most precious gifts Iāve ever received in life and I cherish them. I dislike that we live 12 hours apart, but soak up every minute I get to spend with them. My daughter and I have always been super close, I donāt ever see that changing. Love and hugs to all!
For me, both of my keychains have LEGO pieces attached to them. One is a simple green LEGO brick, clean and classic. The other is much more personal a LEGO minifigure of me. That minifigure was created years ago during a trip my husband and I took to Berlin, Germany. We did not plan on visiting the LEGO store at all, but one evening while walking out of our hotel to grab dinner, serendipity stepped in and led us right to its front door. Inside, they had a design your own minifigure station with special in house printed pieces. We jumped in and had so much fun creating mini versions of ourselves.
I carry that minifigure with me every day. It is a reminder of unexpected adventures, shared laughter, and the kind of moments you never plan but always cherish. It represents travel, creativity, love, and a time in our lives that still makes me smile whenever I reach for my keys.
Thank you all for joining last weekās Friday Fun!
It was so heartwarming to peek into everyoneās bags, pockets, and key rings. From handmade charms to well-loved keepsakes, each little item carried a story, and together, they painted a beautiful picture of comfort, memory, and meaning.
A huge thank-you to all our wonderful participants:
