IdeaStudio just got an update! Version 2.4.0 is now live :tada:

To improve the overall experience, we’ve made a few optimizations across recent updates — and yes, some of those were based on things you shared in the community.

Let’s take a look:

:printer: Printable & Cutting Area Optimization

You can now see the registration marks directly on the canvas, so it’s easier to know where you can safely design. As long as the marks stay readable by the machine, you’re free to place your design closer to the edges — no more wasted space.

:mag: Smarter Font Search

Font search now supports fuzzy matching and is case-insensitive.

Just type part of the name — no need to worry about exact capitalization.

:jigsaw: New ‘Community’ Section

We’ve added a new Community tab to the navigation bar — just click it, and you’ll be taken straight to the community page. One click, and you’re in.

:memo: Text Layout Optimization

Text tools are now moved to the right-side menu on the canvas. Simply select your text, and the editing options will appear automatically on the right — no extra clicks needed.

:framed_picture: Image Editing Just Got a Tune-Up

Noticed your image goes straight to the canvas now, without the outline step?

That’s intentional — we’ve optimized the image editing flow.

Now when you import a JPG or PNG, it lands directly on the canvas.

To generate a cut line, simply:

  1. Upload the image

  2. Use Background Remover

  3. Choose Standard Cut or Print then Cut

:art: AI Painting – now with more fun options

We’ve also updated the AI Painting feature to give you more creative control:

  • 20 new vector styles – Pick from a bunch of new looks to match the style you’re going for.

  • Size ratio settings – Choose the size before generating, so you don’t have to crop it after. That means faster designs that fit your needs straight away.

  • The AI prompt limit has been expanded to 500 characters.

Would it be possible to remove the lower right registration marks since the machine doesn’t read that anymore? That space would mean a lot in maximizing the materila :pray:

Hola, ya pedí mi maquina en Amazon, estoy ansiosa de que llegue. Espero que sea útil porque es mi primera maquina de corte y diseño que adquiero. Hay pocos contenido de ella pero las mayorías han sido buenos comentarios, pero le di una oportunidad ya que es bueno probar cosas nuevas. Espero sacarle provecho.

Yes it is, both icraft and crafter use the same software versions. Only differences is the firmware updates available for each machine. They are different.

Unfortunately the new import process is flawed. Before I could just remove the background and then carry on. Now, if I just remove the background when I try to ‘Make’ it I get a message saying that there are no vector lines. If I use the standard cut then it makes my lines thicker, and I need them to be precise…
