This round of updates brings a cleaner workflow, new shapes, smarter calibration, and a few highly requested features many of you have been waiting for.
Quick look at what’s new
IdeaStudio Desktop
Smarter Printable Calibration
A new calibration scheme lets you use one sheet for up to three calibrations, saving materials and cutting time.
We also reduced the cutting lines as well, making calibration quicker and easier.
Shape Tool Upgrade
New shapes like teardrop, moon, four-pointed star, flag, and more.
Plus a search and filter bar for quicker browsing.
You can now rename custom parameters for Auto Heat Press 2.
What’s Next
The tech team hinted that there might be some UI tweaks coming up, just to make navigation smoother and the overall experience a bit cleaner. We’ll see how it goes.
We’ll keep sharing updates as they roll out.
If you spot anything new or have thoughts to share, feel free to drop them in the comments anytime.
Haven’t tried calibrating again. Thank you for the updates.
However,
I think some users had issues with the offset after updating. The offset did not appear even tnough the text was typed in Idea studio itself. I think this was for windows.
Well, it’s great that one sheet can be used multiple times, but it’s still not reading the registration marks, therefore, I’m still wasting paper to print it for no reason. It would be really great if there was an update that actually fixed the PTC function, and made the machine read the marks. Because of this issue, I’m afraid to purchase the iCraft. Also, I couldn’t even print the sheet from my desktop. It keeps saying my printer is not connected to the Internet, but it is. I KNOW it is. The Android mobile app allowed me to print it, but the machine won’t read the lines. Still wasted paper.
And, yeah, the offset isn’t working on my desktop, now, either. And do the squares and rectangle have to have rounded corners? Where is the sharp corner one? Oh, I just looked and my phone has a sharp corner square pictured in the selection, but my desktop has 2 rounded corner squares pictured. When I click the first square, it adds a sharp corner one. Also, it would be nice if I could change just the height of the square to make it a rectangle, instead of it adjusting the whole square when I use the side adjusters. Why are the side adjusters even there if you can’t adjust the sides? We have corner adjusters for that. I’m pretty sure I use to be able to adjust the individual width and height of the square, but it went away a long time ago, and never came back. I appreciate all the work you all do, and the new features, but there are still some kinks that need to be worked out before I can be happy about this update, which I was happy, until I tried it out.
What I really hope for the software is to see all the functions in one screen. i don’t like needing to click the arrow to see the other functions in the program. I hope this can be done in the next update
Interesting improvements and updates will enable us to create more incredible things. Although I am currently fixing up my premises, I am eager to get it ready so I can start working and trying out all these things. I have all my machines stored away and I haven’t even used the Loklik I won yet. I can’t wait to unpack it and try it out.
@OliviaZzz I think something the team should implement is the ability to select a line and apply the discontinuous effect to it. Sometimes we bring in a vector made in Corel or Illustrator from a box, and it has its fold lines, and we can’t apply the discontinuous or marked effect to those lines. Instead, we have to redraw them, and that takes time. Another adjustment that should be made is to create symmetrical lines. If I want to make a completely straight line, both horizontally and vertically, it doesn’t come out straight no matter how hard we try. In Corel and Illustrator, this is done by pressing the Shift key while drawing the line, but in Idea Studio, this doesn’t happen. I hope they can solve these line problems soon.
I’ve been working on Idea Studio for a couple of days so haven’t updated it yet. Looking forward to trying out all the new shapes and the one-click clarity sounds good too
