Iengrave Job Interrupt

I have searched the discussions and am unable to find the answer or topic. Every time I hit the start button to start a job on the iengrave the laser acts like it is going to work then the status changes to “interrupt” The lid is closed, it is level, it framed the job correctly. I cancel out the job and try to resend the job and it does the exact samething. This is getting frustrating. I have only been able to get this laser to work twice since getting it over a week ago. Has this happened to anyone else? Were you able to figure out what the problem was? If so how did you correct it?

Hi @Michelle_Cornforth, Thanks for sharing all those details—you’re definitely not alone in feeling frustrated when things don’t go as expected, especially with a new machine.

The “Interrupt” status usually points to a safety or communication issue, even if everything looks fine on the surface. A few things to double-check:

  • Firmware & Software: Make sure both the iEngrave firmware and the app/software you’re using are fully updated. Sometimes a mismatch can trigger false interrupts.
  • USB or Wi-Fi Connection: If you’re using USB, try a different cable or port. If you’re on Wi-Fi, a weak signal or brief drop can cause the job to halt.
  • Lid Sensor Sensitivity: Even if the lid looks closed, the sensor might not be registering it properly. Try gently pressing down on the lid as you start the job to see if that changes anything.
  • Job File Format: If the file was imported from another program, re-saving or recreating it within the native software might help avoid compatibility hiccups.

If you’re comfortable sharing a screenshot or short video of what you’re seeing, that might help others spot something specific. And if you’re using the covered version of the iEngrave, there are a few quirks with the lid sensor that some users have worked around—happy to dig into that if it applies!

Hang in there—you’re doing all the right things by asking and troubleshooting. We’ll get this sorted :muscle:

@Michelle_Cornforth, Thanks for sharing the video. Did you try adding a task like engraving a simple name, then opening the door to see if the laser module stops—and resumes once the door is closed? If both of those functions work correctly with your iEngrave, we can rule that out and focus on your internet connection instead.

It looks like the interruptions occur when your WiFi signal is weak. If you’re using a wired connection, that shouldn’t be a problem. May I ask—are you using the blue cable that came with your machine? If not, please give it a try.

In addition, I saw the focal pin was down in your video. Could you please verify it? If so, please put it back before framing or before starting a task, it will interrupt or may touch the surface of your wood. Try to refresh your system, exit the IS app and open it again with a new canvas.

Michelle,

I think I heard them click in the video but check the two prongs on either side of the door that tell the machine that the door is closed and ready. Mine were kind of bending in and I had to pull them out slightly to make sure that the door was making a connection. They are just a real thin metal strip with a loop on the end. And may be your problem.

That’s an error beep it needs to beep once this is going to sound crazy but turn off tap laser head lightly toward left (the Origen spot) then turn back on. Mine had Been off and it was a light tap to have it back on track. When you turn it in it should only beep one time any more I have found it to be a it wont work right thing.

Yes they are clicking when I close the door. The door is connecting with them when I close it.

Okay. I know I was having a problem with them so was hoping it was something easy to fix.
