So, I’m a big gamer and I have been a fan of Nintendo for many years. The Nintendo Game Cube was the first console I bought with my own money. It was fantastic. Well, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes out in less than a week now and to prepare I made a cute Nintendo Switch 2 Game Case.
Materials Used
- LOKLiK iCraft
- HTV
- Standard Cutting Mat
- Weeding Tool
- Lint roller or rubbing alcohol and microfibre cloth
- Heat Mat
- Teflon Sheet
- LOKLiK Impress Mini 3 or heat source. You could use an Iron without the steam on.
Step 1: Designing
I opened Adobe Fresco which is a free drawing app. In my opinion it’s on par or maybe be even better than Apples procreate app. I opened it up and started drawing and designing my case for my logo.
Step 2: Cutting out our design
After my logo was finished, I uploaded it to LOKLiK Idea Studio. Choose Standard Cut and then resized it to fit. I hit make and choose my settings to cut. Because we are using HTV don’t forget to mirror your image and shiny side down on your standard cutting mat.
Flip your mat over and peel away the HTV from your mat. Grab your weeder and start weeding out your design. Look over your design when you are finished because if there is anything on there that you don’t want it will transfer to your blank and it won’t be coming off.
Step 3: Prepare your blank
Clean your blank with a lint roller or rubbing alcohol and a micro fiber cloth. My blank is faux leather and has been in my craft room for a long while with some stains and residue on it, so I’m going to use rubbing alcohol with the micro fiber cloth. Make sure you dry it completely. If you are doing a more fabric blank like a t-shirt use a lint roller.
I set my heat press to 150 C / 302F for 15 seconds. I placed my blank on a heat mat. Then placed a Teflon sheet over my blank to protect it. I prepressed my blank for 5 seconds. I then placed my design on my blank. Placed the Teflon sheet over it. I long pressed the power button to start the timer and started to press. I moved the heat press over the design until the timer went off. If you are using a normal house iron, put it on cotton setting with no steam. You may have to press a little longer with your iron compared to a heat press.
My HTVRont HTV is cool peel so I cool it down on my glass mat. Slowly peel away the carrier sheet monitoring your design. If any of your design lifts up press again for another 5 seconds and try again.
My design stuck beautifully. I placed the Teflon sheet back over my design and pressed for another 5 seconds as per instructions.
Now you have a cute game card holder for all your Nintendo games.
