I created this Happy New Year Star Shaker Card using a mixed‑media approach. The base is a heavy white glitter cardstock, topped with a medium‑weight black glitter cardstock as the main panel. I cut the “Happy New Year 2026” design from iron‑on glitter vinyl in teal color and adhered it to the panel using my mini 3 heat press for a bold, sparkling focal point.
To add a shaker element, I layered clear acetate over the panel and filled it with silver and gold aluminum stars, then secured it with a top‑stitched border using white jeans thread for extra texture. For the finishing touch, I added a fireworks design cut from holographic diamond permanent adhesive vinyl, attaching it to the acetate to create a subtle, dimensional effect.
NOTE: All the design I used in this card came from IS Library.
Oh, yeah, I know you did! Sewing is always fun, even if it’s not with fabric, and it always adds a beautiful touch to any craft. It was a great idea to add them to this card.
I’m amazed with the depth of this project @rinsky . All the depth details discovery such layers and stitches that doesn’t seem to be there at first glance
This turned out amazing! The combination of glitter cardstock, teal iron‑on vinyl, and the shaker stars makes it so eye‑catching. And that holographic fireworks design on the acetate is such a perfect finishing detail. You put so much thought into every layer — it really shows.
