:sparkles: Customized Simple Cake Topper

As a professional cake decorator, I often create custom cake toppers for orders. Today, I’ll show you how to make a simple one-layer cardstock cake topper effortlessly!

:shopping_cart: Materials

1.Laptop / Tablet / Mobile
2.Idea Studio Software
3.Cutting Machine (LOKLiK Crafter/iCraft)
4.Fine Point Blade
5.Cardstock
6.Not-so-sticky Mat

:pushpin: Step-by-Step Tutorial
:pencil2: Designing Your Cake Topper

Write down the name you want in the Idea studio then Change the font choose one that is connected together.
You will see gaps between the letters do not panic you have to select the word click on unite on the upper bar and then subtract.

:black_small_square:If the font is too thin you better use the offset feature to make it thicker.
:black_small_square:If the name has a dot in it you have to slice it and put it onto the letter i/j and then weld them together.
:black_small_square:Resize the name and place it on the canva where you are going to place the cardstock on the mat.

:gear: Cutting Settings

I work with this kind of cardstock which looks like a Plexiglas but it isn’t and unfortunately there is no settings in the Idea studio for it (usually I choose Holographic cardstock on design space)
So I had to try and see…
:black_small_square:HTVRONT
:black_small_square:Standard Cut
:black_small_square:Glitter cardstock
:black_small_square:Force and speed are all the same as in the system.

:scissors: Cutting Process

I use an old mat coz I don’t want it to be very sticky it will ruin my project so I stick the cardstock on the mat with painters tape.

Luckily it cuts very smooth and all the way through.

After it’s finished check if the cut is all the way through then unload your mat and carefully remove the name off the mat.

You can glue acrylic or plastic sticks from the back to make it a cake topper, but in my case the customer just wanted it to be on the front side of the cake.

I have several fonts with a heart instead of the dot, but I’ve changed it if you noticed I removed the original heart and put the heart from the shapes instead. This font is Alive

My sister owns a cake and bakery shop. I used to help her make birthday cakes. Now I have LOKLiK iCraft but work in a different town. I bet she will be delighted if I make customized cake toppers for her shop
