Time for one of my favorite parts of the week—a little chat with all of you.
This week’s question popped into my head recently when I was browsing in a LEGO store.
Suddenly I realized—the person I’d love to build LEGO with is actually a childhood friend I haven’t seen in years. We used to create little “castles” together, and now I keep wondering if she’s built her own real-life castle by now, wherever life has taken her.
Funny how certain creative moments make you think of someone specific, right?
So today’s topic is simple:
If you could craft with anyone, who would it be?
Your favorite artist, a historical figure, a family member, or even someone from this community—anything goes.
And just for fun, what would you make together?
Drop yours in the comments!
We’ll randomly pick 3 fun replies next Tuesday to receive 100 points.
Oh yes I really miss my elementary bestfriend who also loves art like painting and creative stuff just like me. We used to hang out and go to a stationery store and you know what I cannot save money because of her, 'cause she handed me tools that I couldn’t resist, saying I should buy and do it too It looks like she’s the one who decides what to buy But I take it as an encouragement and she wants me to enjoy too. She’s busy now with her internship as an aspiring architect and I’m thankful to her for still supporting me in my design & crafting journey 'cause she always like & react on my posts. I wish her the best too. Hoping we could meet soon and create together, we’ll make stickers or wall art out of her illustrations.
I would love to have a Crafting workshop with my fellow Ka Loka admins @Sabeyneh@justkraftsph@Crafted@Carmel@misshaven so we can share our knowledge with the Htvront x Loklik Community in the Philippines
Big congrats to the winners from the previous event. It was great hearing I wasn’t the only one obsessed with collecting craft supplies. HAHAHA
This is so weird. I recently had this same exact experience. My daughter was celebrating her 13th birthday recently and had a small party with close friends. Well, when I was 13 I had a really good friend called Marian and we did everything together, played musical instruments, art’s and crafts, barbies, dolls everything. Well, she got me a best friend necklace like with the heart, and it breaks apart and each friend has a half. Anyway, I said to my daughter do you want to get best friend necklaces, and she was so excited, and we went shopping for them. Fast forward a week and guess who pops up as a recommended friend on Facebook. Now I haven’t talked to this friend since she moved away when I was 16 and there was no Facebook back then, so we really lost contact. I sent her a friend request, and we got chatting about the old days and how fun they were, turns out she became a high school teacher as well, she teaches Science and Math’s. It’s amazing after all this time we kind of went in the same direction. I recently left the teaching profession to pursue YouTube and helping people and she just finished up her teaching contract and is pursuing more crafty endeavors with her puppet show and band. It was amazing to catch up with her after all this time.
I’d like to make a paper sculpture with Jeff Nishinaka or Karin Arruda, their work is incredible. Or maybe make some fun projects with Nilmara Quintela, a paper designer from Brazil.
But what I would really love is to sit with my mom and crochet just like when I was a kid.
I was moved with your story. The world is too big to find your long-lost best friend without any online communication way back then. But now, we can find most of our childhood friends and even relatives that we haven’t seen before when we moved out of state/country. I’m glad you finally found each other again and do what you love the most And by the way, I love the necklace too!
I would love to craft with Naoko Takeuchi… she’s the mangaka of Sailor Moon… a true inspiration for years… and because she’s seldom seen in public being in the same room as her is a dream come true.
Cheers to the winners from last week! It was so fun to see what people keep buying crafts which they knew - they already have (not only me, this time ).
If I could craft with anyone, it would be Jennifer Maker, Angie Holden, & Bethany Dilly. I believed, we could do any sublimation projects under the sun . With my background together with their creativity as well, we will do the impossible to possible things that a crafter wouldn’t imagine that this is possible to do with a little applied Chemistry to it.
If I could craft with anyone, it would be a few crafting moms and friends I have made thru social media. I had the pleasure of finally meet one of my crafting social media friends and her mom during a recent trip. We had an amazing dinner and dessert but the cherry on top was to have the chance to craft with them. They are absolutely amazing and I look up to them as a crafter. I felt star struck when I saw them, and I had jitters while I waited for them. Lol, like a little kid meeting their hero. There are also a few crafting moms on social media that inspirational and would love to craft with them and learn from each other. Not only would that be a great opportunity to craft but to share tips and thoughts on how to raise our children while managing a small business.
I love this, it’s so great to talk to others that are in the same position as you with your business and crafting. It motivates all that are involved. Would be great to have another crafty live here soon too
Oh, thank you for your kind words. Yes, it’s very hard to keep track of everyone but technology certainly helps which is great.
I follow Angie and Bethany as well, they are so great for inspiration and motivation to craft. I would totally be star stuck if I ever met them hahahaha
Hands down, it would be my lovely mother. Unfortunately, She is no longer with me and I do miss her often even though she has been gone for the past 4 years. She could sew the most amazing things and put together just beautiful gifts. I miss her creativity, patience and beautiful smile
