Hello community!
It’s Tuesday again, and today’s topic actually popped into my head while I was dealing with work.
Whenever I send a formal email, I always end up rereading it over and over again. I’ll check the wording, the names, the attachments, everything. Sometimes ten times in a row.
And somehow… I still manage to make a mistake anyway lol.
That got me thinking.
I wondered if anyone else has moments like this, those slightly obsessive little checks, when crafting.
There’s always that one step where you slow down without even realizing it.
You double-check the alignment.
You confirm the front and back.
You stare at the screen before hitting “Make”.
Sometimes you even take a small breath and think, “Okay… now I’m ready.”
So let’s talk about that moment: What’s the step you always look at twice before saying OK? What are you usually checking at that point?

When it comes to crafting, I’m the queen of checking, double‑checking, and then triple‑checking before I cut — especially to make sure my HTV or sublimation designs are mirrored correctly. And yet, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve finished a project only to realize it looks perfect… if you hold it up to a mirror .
I also have to laugh at myself when I forget to flip designs the right way up. Tote bags? I usually do them upside down, but sometimes I forget to flip the design too. And don’t get me started on mugs — I’ve definitely had a few come out with the words upside down .
As they say, if you can’t laugh at your mistakes, you’re missing half the fun of crafting!
@OliviaZzz, I do this all the time, with pretty much everything! As you mentioned, I’ll stare at emails, replies, and the make button forever before sending or pressing start. However, the one task that I do this most on, is when I’m online shopping! I stared at the Place Order button for 15 minutes, yesterday, before placing my HTVRONT order. I just always feel like I’m either forgetting something, or maybe, I need to remove something. Many times, I’ve pressed send to find that I did indeed forget something.
When it comes to emails or replies, I just want to make sure I’m not going to offend anyone or say something wrong. Or I’ll reread it over and over to make sure it makes sense. Thanks for bringing this up, as I no longer feel alone. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with this kind of anxiety. It’s ok to hesitate and make sure everything is perfect before sending. Maybe, more people should be like this. Think about how your words may effect others before pressing send. Would you feel bad if someone said them to you? If so, delete and write something kind, instead.
I always double check that my material is in the right places on the mat compared to where it is on the screen.
That’s why I always switch to inches before I put it on the mat so that the squares are the same on the screen and mat to use as little material as possible.
However, it happens that I still manage to place it wrong or I forget to mirror my HTV.
I do this for almost every post I do on social media and even in this community. Sometimes my mind goes 100 miles an hour and what comes out doesn’t make sense to the rest of the world lol
Yeah, I know how that is. My closet is full of failed T-shirts! The only problem I see with the mug, is that I’d probably end up trying to pour coffee into it while it was actually upside down.
I re check things for to many times and sometimes make things more then one way before deciding if I like one more then the other. I have dyslexia snd stuff,e with spelling or I tripe to check it a lot even ask other to not that it always helps.
What’s the step you always look at twice before saying OK?
I check to see if my design is right side up or upside down I also double check to make sure my design is properly placed and not crooked- that is my biggest look twice- if not more!
What are you usually checking at that point?
To make sure the design is up right and centered!
I do most of my sublimation designs in Canva, which is pretty easy to maneuver thru the program. I start by picking the size - seems logical to enter the dimensions of your overall size needed. Design, add colors, tweak it and then download. When I pull up the PDF to send to my printer, it auto defaults to a shrunken version of the image and if not caught, it prints at about 95% of the size I wanted. I find that I triple check the resize area of the settings to be sure it prints big enough to cover my surface. Irritating to have to do but it’s bitten me more than I’d like to admit.
