The color does not come out like it’s supposed to.If I have blue, it comes out like a purple, what am I doing wrong? What the needs to be changed
Hey @nick_radakovich. Welcome to the community. Can you please provide a bit more information about which machine you are referring to and what materials you are using? Providing a bit more context would be very helpful in making sure that we can provide an educated answer and maybe get you to the person who might be the most help. Thanks in advance.
This is how the color comes out on my h.T ront d1 dtf printer
@nick_radakovich, oh no—that’s definitely frustrating! When your blue prints are turning out purple, it usually points to a color imbalance or misconfiguration in your DTF setup. Let’s troubleshoot together:
1. Check Your Color Profile Settings
DTF printers like the HTVRONT use CMYK inks, but many design programs default to RGB. If your artwork is in RGB, the printer might misinterpret the colors—especially blues, which can shift toward purple. Try converting your design to CMYK before printing and see if that helps.
2. Run a Nozzle Check & Head Cleaning
Sometimes, clogged or partially clogged nozzles—especially the yellow or cyan—can throw off your color balance. Run a nozzle check from your printer’s maintenance menu. If any colors are missing or streaky, do a head cleaning and test again.
3. Recalibrate Your Ink Channels
If your printer was recently set up or if you’ve changed inks, the color channels might be misaligned. Double-check that your RIP software is correctly mapping the CMYK channels to the right printheads. A swapped cyan/magenta channel could easily cause this kind of color shift A B C.
4. Check for Ink Contamination
If you’ve refilled your cartridges or switched brands, there’s a chance of cross-contamination. Flush the lines and refill with fresh, manufacturer-recommended DTF ink if needed.
5. Update or Reinstall Your ICC Profile
HTVRONT printers often come with ICC profiles tailored to their inks and films. If yours is missing or outdated, reinstalling the correct profile can dramatically improve color accuracy.
@rinsky has provided some great information. @OliviaZzz also posted some great crafters notes on the DTF. I have posted the link below. Between the two great pieces of education, we hope you are able to fix the issue.
@nick_radakovich, if you tried my recommendations above and still stuck - here are some further troubleshooting for you to check.
Let’s Start with a Controlled Test Print
Try printing a simple CMYK swatch or a solid blue square using your RIP software. This helps isolate whether the issue is with your design file or the printer’s output. If the blue still prints purple, we know it’s a hardware or software config issue.
Next: ICC Profile Check
HTVRONT printers rely on ICC profiles to translate digital colors into accurate ink output. If the profile is missing, outdated, or mismatched to your ink or film, colors can skew.
• Visit HTVRONT’s support page or check your printer’s setup guide for the correct ICC profile for your model and ink type.
• Make sure it’s installed in your RIP software and selected for your media type.
Bonus Tip: Clean Before You Recalibrate
Before making any big changes, run a nozzle check and head cleaning. A clogged cyan or yellow channel can throw off your blues and purples.
