Every year on May 18, people around the world celebrate International Museum Day — a time to reflect on how museums preserve culture, spark curiosity, and connect us across generations.
Museums aren’t just about the past, they help shape the future by celebrating creativity, knowledge, and human expression.
This Friday, let’s imagine something fun together.
If there were a museum built for crafters and makers like us… what will it look like in the future? Would it have:
An interactive vinyl wall display?
Floating digital galleries of handmade cards?
A timeline of creative tools from scissors to lasers?
Your personal “Masterpiece Wall” on display?

Before COVID, paper flower backdrops were my primary focus and each weekend was booked for a fifteenth birthday or wedding. It was such an honor to be a part of these memorable events.
Oh these are gorgeous. You are so very talented I did a production of Alice in wonder land at my dance school and I made so many flowers to decorate the foyer and in the hall where the quests sat to watch the show. You’re lovely flowers reminded me of all the hard work it was, but in the end it looked so stunning
Thank you so much! They are indeed take a lot of time and work to make but look so stunning. Alice in Wonderland is such a cute theme, would love to see a photo.
Hello, @bellethehowtoguru. Actually, it’s a fun sharing activity. You can share your ideas of what a craft museum might look like — maybe it has an interactive vinyl wall displaying all kinds of vinyl, a timeline of crafting tools, or a history of DIY culture. Just imagine your own version of a future craft museum and share them.
You can also share one of your own creations — something you feel is special enough to be displayed in a museum — and tell us why.
Or, if you’ve ever visited a really interesting museum, feel free to share that experience too.
Or simply share anything that comes to mind related to museums.
My Crafting Museum of the future most likely a personal Masterpiece Wall on display with a controlled room temperature and pressure to preserve the quality and extend the life of my creations for generations. Of all the hand made things I created, I want to organize them in a certain space that everyone would see it and inspire by my creations. I want to put the story behind on each creation I made and to include all the details like materials, working hours, difficulty of the project, video tutorial, etc. associated with it in a way that they can view it through a big screen outside the wall. I will organized a playlist for them such as popular, most-like/love, seasonal, trending videos that they can play in the big screen or shareable to their phones via Bluetooth (their choice!). I have a lot of creations for the last 16 years and counting but I love to share one of my favorites (it’s really hard to choose, though). It was my sister in law’s tote bag I made from all the favorite clothes/jeans from her late Dad who passed away during Thanksgiving Day/Night couple years ago. My Father-in-law was a Harley Guy, he loves to ride his bike during summer and he owned four (4) of them. I spent more or less 14 hours to make it. My sister-in-law love it so much and she always carry it wherever she goes. And she said, “it feels like I’m riding with my Dad - like forever!”…
OMG, I love this. This is so great. It reminds me being a little kid at bedtime reading stories. You did an amazing job. Just brilliant, thank you so much for sharing.
I love seeing some of my favorite cards I have made up on display in my craft room. It gives a nice pop of colour in my craft room and also inspires me to create. I think a room wall to wall of greeting cards from over the years would be a site to behold. So many old techniques become new again and used in different ways.
Here is a picture below of some of the cards I have made.
