IdeaStudio & LOKLiK App Update Log | Issue #4 (Version 3.0.0)

Since it’s a large program, you may have to wait some time, like 30 minutes to an hour, for it to uninstall everything. Then, try to reinstall. It may still be showing that you still have it installed, as it hasn’t finished uninstalling, yet.

It uninstalled completely within a minute. I rebooted, Now it is saying I need to update the driver on the flash tool

Ok, you may have to install the flash tool and go through all of those steps. Here is the link to the :point_right:t3: Flash Tool.

It gives all the directions on how to install and update the drivers.

Ok it looks like it updated because there are no updates and the layout is different. Is there a tutorial on how the new updates work?

I’m working on one right now. Stay tuned. I’m in the process of editing it. I’m happy you’re now on the latest version. Everything should still work the same, things have just been moved around.

Where can I find a guide on the cutting blades and which to use on which project?

Basically, if it’s vinyl, paper, thin cardstock use the 45° blade, if it’s thick cardstock, vellum, faux leather, etc., use the 60° blade.

I noticed after updating the flash & then the update for Idealstudio that my loklik is disconnecting on it’s own in between projects. Is anyone else having this happen?

Yes, mine does that every now and then. Try these troubleshooting tips. I have them written in 2 languages in the comments here.

Here ya go. I just made this guide and linked to the replacement blades in the post.

Mine is off and stays off.

Have you turned your machine off and back on? Sometimes that helps.

Yes it won’t connect again unless I do that.
I also have a 30 blade. Any idea what it would be used for? Thank you so very much for all of your help.

Hmmm… Idk what could be causing that, if you’ve tried all the troubleshooting tips in the other post I shared. You may need to contact them by clicking Help > Feedback and Errors, and let them know what’s going on. You can mark the Log Upload and that will allow them to collect the data from your machine. They may be able to see what the problem is and help you fix it.

30° blades are typically used for cutting fine details in thinner materials like standard vinyl. I don’t have one, but I’ve seen them on Amazon when looking to buy replacements for my Crafter.

You’re very welcome. I’m always happy to help, if I can. Some things are just beyond me. :woman_shrugging:t3::laughing::heart:

Thank you. I try to contact them tomorrow. When you say standard vinyl do you mean perm vinyl? Or dollartree vinyl LOL

I mean, yeah, probably Dollar Tree vinyl. That’s what I was thinking, because it has that paper backing that’s so easy to cut through. So, yeah, probably any kind of vinyl with the paper backing, you could probably use the 30° blade. You may be able to cut regular matte vinyl with it, too. You’d just have to try it and see with a small test cut, I suppose.

I downloaded a graphic for a tumbler. I haven’t worked with this type of file yet. It’s a 1 PDF, 1 PNG. Not sure how I use the Loklik icraft for this. I searched for tutorials but couldn’t find any that weren’t using the actual tumbler machine.

So, apparently, a “1 PNG, 1 PDF” file typically refers to the action or result of combining multiple PNG image files into a single PDF document, making it easier to share, print, and organize several images as one cohesive, multi-page file, with each original PNG appearing as a separate page in the new PDF. You can try to upload it, and see if the IS can do it, but I don’t think it accepts PDFs. You can try converting it to a regular PNG by using Imagy, and see if that works. It’s pretty easy to do, it’s free, and there’s no sign up required to use it. Just scroll down to the image converter and see if it will accept your file(s). Then select what file type you’d like to convert to. If you want to Print Then Cut, convert to a regular PNG or JPG. If you want to cut individual layers, convert to an SVG. Let me know how that goes, so I’ll be informed if someone else, or even myself, comes across this issue.

Maybe, the PDF contains links to download each PNG? If so, you just click the links and download each one. Then you won’t have to convert anything.

After doing more research on the 30° blade, I’ve updated my Loklik Blade Guide.
