My print on the sublimation sheet isn't transferring to my phone case project [RESOLVED!]

Hi again.
I’m running to the issue where my image isn’t transferring to my phone case. It might be due to my heat settings. What should my pre heat and heating temps be?

Is it printed on the right side of transfer film is my first thought.

I’m printing on the matte side. Glossy side up once in the heat press.

Hi @Doyli_Izaguirre! Did you use sublimation ink for your film? Just wondering :thought_balloon: Also you can check the link below for your refrence only:

Hello Doyli, it can be a bit tricky the first few times, so here are a few things worth checking:

  • Print on the matte side of the film.
  • Make sure you’re using sublimation ink.
  • The case needs to be a sublimation phone case blank, otherwise the image won’t stick.

For heat settings, what often works well is: upper plate 135°C, lower plate 135°C, preheat 2–10s, transfer 300–350s. Some people also get good results around 190°C for 150s with firm pressure, so you can try and see which fits better with your setup.

If it still gives you trouble, maybe record a short clip of your process and share it with support@htvront.com — they’ll be able to spot what’s going on.

Sublimation ink? I’m using the products that came with the HTVront, is this something I would purchase separately?

Yes @Doyli_Izaguirre! You should use a dedicated sublimation printer loaded with sublimation ink to ensure your printed design transfers properly when heat is applied with your phone heat press.

Now that we’ve identified the issue behind the transfer problem, let’s troubleshoot further—what type of printer did you use to print your design?

I recently purchased the HTV Phone case heat press. I’m using LOKLiK for my design but, I’m unable to get it to print on the sublimation sheet. If you had this issue how did you get it fixed?

Seems like I was able to fix this issue. From a lot of research done painters tape and a sheet of paper taped to the back on the sublimation sheet was the answer. Now I have a different issue.

I have an Epson XP- 4205

Yeah, that won’t work. You need to get at least a sublimation printer for your sublimation blank phone case. There are Epson eco tank out there that you can convert to sublimation printer - that I did with mine for sublimation purposes only.

If you don’t mind me asking what printer do you use ?

I used Epson Ecotank (ET-2800).

I’ll look into that one. Lastly for the ink I would just have to search it on Amazon?

I used Hiipoo inks. They are great for sublimation based on my hands on experienced. You can check some of my sublimation videos in my YouTube Channel for your eyes to see and for your reference only. Goodluck!
