Pineapple, banana, watermelon â these fruity favorites always bring on the summer vibes. We know different region has its own special fruits too, from dragon fruit in Southeast Asia to guava in the Caribbean!
Fun fact:
In France, the sunny town of Menton is famous for its fragrant lemons â so much so that they host an annual Lemon Festival featuring giant citrus sculptures.

My favorite fruit is the sweet taste of a fresh, ripe pineapple. This would make a great shirt, a pic of a pineapple with the sun behind it. It also brings Hawaii to mind, which would make a great Hawaiian themed tote bag or t-shirt.
Happy Friday, yâall â
Itâs hotter than a Georgia sidewalk in July, which means one thing:
PEACH SEASON IS ON.
When it comes to favorite fruits, Iâve got to stick with a local treasure: the Georgia peach! Juicy, sweet, and full of charm â just like the folks who grow them.
For this weekâs fruity fun craft challenge, Iâve been dreaming up something extra special:
For this weekâs fruity craft challenge, I could whipped up something close to the heart: A wooden family tree made entirely of peaches:
Each peach has a name on it â from Grandma down to that cousin who only shows up for food and photos.
And yes, I could even make matching shirts with the same design, because whatâs a family gathering without coordinated outfits and at least one person complaining itâs too hot for matching shirts?
Or I could go with a banana birdhouse? Watermelon wind chimes?
What do yâall think? Yep, told you Iâm Southern, we really do say YâALL.
Happy crafting everyone.
This week is making me hubgre again
I have low tolerance for sourness so I prefer sweet fruis like banana, chico, watermelon, avocado, sugar apple or atis, etc. Iâm very lucky to have fruit bearing trees in our side yard that we can enjoy.
When we lived in Queensland Australia, we lived in a town called Bowen. The home of the mango. It was amazing every summer we had more mangoes than we knew what to do with. Made a lot of different dishes using mangos just to use them up. After a hard day of working in the yard, nothing was better than having some homemade mango sorbet.
growing up our parents always told us to eat our fruits and veggies⊠how I wish I ate more or could go back to that time because now fresh fruits are so expensive⊠I find myself craving for some pineapples, peaches and mangoâŠ
would be fun to craft a shirt with fruity vibes⊠or a cake topper to match a fresh fruit cake, yum!
I love cold, juicy, and sweet watermelon in the summertime. I made this kitchen towel for my sister. Sheâs 10 years older than me and likes to act like my mom, especially since ours is no longer with us. She can be a little much sometimes, so I happened to think it was very fitting! LOL
My favorite fruit is apple specially Fuji Apples . Although, it wasnât originated from WA but I love to buy every week!
Washington state is primarily known for its apples. It is the nationâs top apple-producing state. In fact, the apple was officially designated as the state fruit in 1989, according to the Washington State Legislature. Washington also produces significant amounts of other fruits like cherries, pears, and raspberries.
Here are some famous apples used to make apple pie (I love it and I can eat 2 slices in one sitting )
A Lemon Inspired Sewing Session
I was inspired to hand make these cute little lemon covered bloomers for my one year old granddaughter because we just grew our very first (and only!) lemon on our young lemon treeđ
Also⊠Iâll admit, I was working with limited HTV colours, yellow and green looked the best on white cotton, so lemons it was!
I found the perfect lemon in the LLiS Library. After cutting out the lemons I heat set them on before sewing up the bloomers, it looks like the fabric was pre-printed.
Iâve added the project to the Inspire tab so you can see exactly how I created these sweet lemon bloomers.
